I only like the nice characters

The last time I wasn't enjoying it was when Blackburn was in charge. The next few weeks look unmissable.

But Skank Charity is not at all nice. Nor is she fabulous in any way, shape or form.

More than Corrie and Eastenders and the show has moved on from the Blackburn era but there are still characters I don't like for example Debbie and Jai who are appearing too much

Mostly but I can't stand anything to do with Debbie terrible character.

I'm liking it just now and looking forward to the next few weeks. Emmerdale probably the top soap for me at the moment, just ahead of EE

I LOVE Emmerdale! It's been my favourite soap for a long time now. I just find its always engaging, and always has good stories on the go. I think the cast are really talented and I like most of the characters.

My favourite characters are The Bartons, Debbie, Charity, Aaron, Robert and Laurel. Laurel's drink problem has been my favourite storyline so far this year, but I've really enjoyed the Debbie and Ross storyline too. I think Michael Parr and Charley Webb are both brilliant actors and have brought the script to life in a big way.

I've always watched emmerdale since its days as a lunchtime soap- is the only soap I watch and I don't miss an instalment if I can help it. I have seen clips of eastenders but whenever I have is always people screaming at each other. No thanks!

Zero organic, character led storylines right now.
All of the storylines are simply leading up to have maximum impact for the stunt; it will have the opposite effect on me, I'm afraid, because it's all contrived nonsense.

Cannot wait until the stunt is over with so we can get back to some decent storylines. I'm absolutely sick of all the affairs/triangles.

Having said that, it's still by far the best soap (which is really worrying for the others), but honestly... it's dipped quite a bit from the high it's been on in recent months/years, so I'm placing the blame on the upcoming stunt. Clearly, far too much time has gone into the stunt, and they've centred every storyline around it, instead of just letting storylines play out naturally... Every storyline just seems like it's building up to a big disaster.

Discounting the Debbie and Ross triangle and Jai/Rachel/Sam I absolutely love it.

It's the soap with the best actors. It's got humour, warmth and 90% of the characters are fantastic.

Never get the hype with ED, I see these comments about it in threads like this but to me it's still meh IMO.

There's a lot to like about ED, and one of those things is their ability to utilize their entire cast all the time, so there's always a variety of stories in play (characters don't disappear randomly for months). The show's bringing the drama and comedy, and it's being produced with that in mind (other soaps can be quite dull with their execution), but...

I'm not loving it entirely. I think the show has dropped into a lazy vacuum of plot-driven nonsense. A lot of what is going on right now would be more engaging if the characters were at the centre of the plot.

Ross has lost his heart. He does terrible things these days without feeling a shred of remorse. The Ross/Debbie/Pete triangle is boring and lacks any romance.

I'm tired of Robert getting beat up and knocked out every other week. The dude should have at least suffered concussion once so far. Laurel decked Marlon once, and literally almost took out an eye, but Robert gets smashed up and nothing. I also dislike the plot device that is Chrissie - she has no character to her at all.

It's like Tracy kissing Jimmy was such a lazy writing choice.

ED is smarter than this. I'm not loving the show, b/c I know they can do much better.

The affair plot hasn't interested me. Plus Laurel Dingle is sober so that has lost it's appeal.

BIB: Yeah, Drunk Laurel was so much better than Regular Laurel.

I've never been into Emmerdale until the last couple of months. Michael Parr is such a amazing actor that he's drawn me into the show. One of the best in soaps right now.

I agree with this...stopped watching Ed a few weeks back...might tune in for the big explosion....just enjoying watching Corrie at the moment..
