Eastenders and Corrie opposite when it comes to babies

I watch both Eastenders and Corrie and I have noticed that they seem to be opposites when it comes to babies in recent years. In Eastenders there have been quite a few baby storylines since DTC has been in charge e.g Ronnie and Matthew, Kat and the twins, Linda and Ollie, Kim and Pearl, Stacey expecting Martin's baby and Shabnam with her adopted daughter and her pregnancy with Kush however on the other side Corrie seem to have very few babies recently born the last one being Lily Platt (?) and most women seem to have problems with their fertility/miscarriages (Tracy, Leanne, Carla and Erica). Corrie has a lot of the families that have been in it years but have not many children to carry on the family line e.g Steve McDonald only has 1 children.
What do people prefer too many babies or not many babies?

Is Lily really the last born baby on Corrie? I swear she was born ages ago? That's ridiculous.

People complain about the amount of baby storylines on EE, but really if you actually took a sample size of the cast of EastEnders in real life there'd probably be more pregnancies/babies than in the show - in fact around live week when they were presenting loads of facts I'm pretty sure I remember reading one that said that people in EastEnders have more deaths, marriages and divorces than in real life - but actually far fewer babies! I guess the reason people complain about them is because they're not exactly the most interesting storyline to watch, and it gets tedious the way they try to dramatise them, I think it would be a lot better if all these pregnancies just happened naturally with no drama, no duff duffs involved and a normal pregnancy where the baby comes around the due date, whilst of course having dramatic parts in some pregnancies but not all of them. When exactly was the last time on EastEnders somebody had a baby that WASN'T premature? It's getting a little silly now...

Miley was the most recent born, Lily was born in 2013 so easily 2 years ago now.

I remember reading those facts around the time of live week. I was pretty surprised considering the amount of babies EE produce! But I agree I don't see why baby stories have to be dramatised, ie baby by rape, who's the daddy, abortion, toying over whether they want it etc.

Actually, has anyone on a soap had an ectopic pregnancy?

I think Violet in CS did & afterwards doctors told her she might struggle to conceive again which is why she rushed into having a baby with Sean.

I wouldn't say that was silly. No one has had a baby on my street for a good ten years

I think when you really look at it also, you have to ask yourself, what pool of fertile women are there on Corrie? We're hardly going to see Liz, Eileen, Gail, Sally, Anna, Audrey, Rita or Emily up the duff now are we? Which leaves slim pickings for having babies. Corrie is quite an "old" crowd, whereas EastEnders has a much younger cast.
