o2 -Turning a 'Bundle deal' into an 'ordinary' Pay as you go deal? (by swapping sims?

Here are the details:

Doro Phone 612 Black
+ o2 Big Bundles £10 Pay as you go

with £10 topup (which had ot be bought)

It was an o2 promotion.

The phone is just for basic use, the GB of data are Not being used, nor will they be used,
the phone is just for calling and texting but not frequently.

The problem is, this phone is not used much, and the bundle runs out every month,
with loads of minutes and texts 'unused'.

and when they are unused, then the do Not roll over, so it feels a waste topping up and not getting the full usage, (only a small % of them are getting used)

So the questions are: Can this roll over bundle set up, be changed to a normal Pay as you go (the common old style pay as you go?) by phoning o2?

If not, can this phone be turned into the Pay as you go format (where lets say if you top up £10 in Jan, and just send 2 texts (-20p, leaving the balance to £9.80) and not use it for 4-5 months, then in 4-5 months the balance of £9.80 will still be there (without the top up money unrolling forward) ?

Can a new Pay as you go sim be put in this phone, which will be a new number (Which is fine) so that it will be turned from a bundle deal to a pay as you go number ?

or the phone could be locked, so this option would not work?

or it could work but the phone would need to be unlocked ??

So basically want to remove the O2 Bundle feature, and turn it into a pay as you go ordinary phone. How can this be done?

oh and we want to keep this phone, not change it. but can change the sim.

can it be done, using the same sim number? or a new sim would have to be put in, with the phone to be unlocked ??

could always do what i do with any of the mobile companies as i cant be bothered going into prett 1 press 2 systems, nip on the online chat on o2s website most of the time they will get it sorted out for you within a few minutes,

what you want is totally possible though i dont know off the top of my head which options youd need to select on the phone system but web chat will be able to sort it for you

Does the phone support 3G? If so, switching over to Three would be the best thing to do as top up credit doesn't expire, and calls are only 3p/min so it will last for a long time too.

Yes, call 2202 and using the IVR switch to the 'Big Talker' tariff instead.
This will give you a free O2-O2 allowance for a month after topping-up, but you keep the top-up credit to use as you wish.

Hi there what you need to be on is the tariff called o2 basic if you call o2 up and select the option for the cancellation department and ask them to put you on a tarriff called "o2 basic" on o2 basic calls are 15p per min and text are 5p per min

So just call them up and say you do not want big bundles or big talker you just want to be on the normal o2 basic tariff where calls are 15p per min,

I have done this for a few people who want to be on standard payg in fact i did it for myself the other day for my back up phone on o2 basic there is no monthly allowance you only get charges for the calls are text you make

But make sure you select he option for the cancellation department on the ivr select the option for thinking of leaving o2 as they are the only department that can put you on the o2 retention's tariff o2 basic,
