Just unfortunate that she was sacked from a high profile show like Hollyoaks, I'd bet there are plenty of girls who've been sacked for turning up drunk to their job.”

Most people would have the common sense not to go out partying when they have to be in work early the following morning. If Stephanie can't socialise without getting so drunk that she's still 'under the influence' when she rocks up to work at 7am (or thereabouts), then she does have a problem.

Agree she does have a problem. It's not just the one time either plus we don't know if she was just hungover from night before or actually drunk from drinking that day.

Yes, and Deayton doesn't get any where near as much work as he used to.

Also, as far as i'm aware, Deayton's drug use and affairs never actually impacted on his work, he wasn't delaying filming of HIGNFY because he was under the influence for example. He was dismissed from that role because he couldn't really be hosting and making fun of people in the News Scandals when he was a scandal himself.

The fact Anthea Turner's TV career went into free fall and never recovered because of some chocolate bar incident ('Flakegate'), as shallow as it was, is ridiculous. She was a brilliant presenter on GMTV and a breath of fresh. Doesn't harm that she's a nice bit of totty too It's not like she committed a crime, or had drink/drug problems.

She hosted a show called Perfect Housewife about 9 years ago.

Yesn i agree. The crietria used to judge if somebody has an alcohol problems includes questions asking whether drinking (or after effects of druunking like hangovers has ever caused somebody to miss work, not do their job properly, cause other people such as colleagues to comment on it. Also questions about whether friends question how much you drink, get fed up with you going 'over the top' when out etc. It sounds, from her own agents statement that the work ones all apply to Davis. If)(and i do say if) she really was banned from the Soap awards it sound like the social lot do too.

A drink problem doesn't need to mean somebody swigging vodka out of a water bottle in the morning. It can be defined as anything that has a detrimental impact on your life, working, family or social.

Exactly, this was about image whereas Steph Davies is about reliability and ability to do the job

If she does have a drink problem then this is where she'll find out who her true friends are. Then ones just hanging around her because of who she is won't say what needs to be said. They'll just agree with everything she says.

Yes it was strongly worded. I don't know how it works between actors & agents, but I supposed I assumed that the agent would consult with the actor about what would go into a statement that's to be released to the press.

You are probably right. The agent seemed to act indepentently & not on behalf of Steph. The statement did lack spin & made no attempt at damage limitation. It was very blunt. The agent made no mention of an apology from Steph either etc.

Usually the agent would discuss this with the actor and a decision would be made on how this would be handled to cause the least amount of damage. There is no attempt to gloss over anything here so this hasnt happened in this case and one can only speculate as to why.

Why should disliking the character mean you want the actress's career to fail? The character's gone and won't be coming back, any further work she got would be different characters.

Was it aimed at her?

Either way he doesn't sound a nice guy from past comments.

I've thought for a while that Steph's acting has not been at the same level as it used to be. She used to be brilliant as Sinead and she gave 100% but for a while now it's been quite obvious that she hasn't been giving it her all. I honestly have been wondering if there is something going on in her personal life that could be affecting her work.”

Examples? Or did you make that up, hate when people make out they knew something was wrong all along.

The tweet seemed to be a dig at her as it was 'Ding Dong the Witch is dead' & Steph tried out for the part of Dorothy on that Over the Rainbow show a few years back.

On a positive note, I have seen James interviewed & he came across at a nice funny guy & I've heard he's lovely to fans. He gets tweeted by fans to stop outside Lime if he's in that day & he tweets back 'no problem'.

He does sometimes tweet insensitive or to some offensive comments. Mostly, when he does that I think he's trying to be funny & make a joke.

I've just checked & he's not been on twitter since the 18th July & he usually tweets a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if he did get a b*llocking at work for his 'Ding Dong' tweet & the extra negative publicity to the show & is taking a bit of a break from twitter & avoiding people's tweets to him about his tweet.
