I really like Amy but I just don't 'get' Simon.
He was great when he was younger, but he isn't transitioning into his teens very well. I feel as though the current abuse storyline is unnecessary. The character would have benefited from a bit of a 'rest' for a year or two. He should have left with Peter, possibly to return with a new head.

No, they're awful. Simon is utterly torturous to watch, the odious shit. Yes blah blah he's traumatised blah blah, I don't care, it's not entertaining it's incredibly annoying. CS is hardly an educational show, it's full of masses of misinformation, it's there to entertain. Simon's ****ing whining, tantruming and thinking he's so clever when he acts like a five year old are not entertaining on any level.
I like Simon.

Peter gets that devil child. Leanne doesn't. Simon got on alright with Nick and Carla though
Amy is more tolerable than Simon even when she is being a complete bratfink! What annoys me is, both children have had difficult lives yet all the adult just worry about Simon. Amy mouths off and they are all "Amy's a naghty child, taking after Tracy" yet when Simon does somehing they stand around wringing their hands making a fusss and makung excuses "Simon is upset, Simon is tired blah blah." No! Simon has always been rude, cocky and mouthy since the start and very rarely pulled up on it. Even when he was younger it wasn't cute, just obnoxious. Look how horrible he was to Carla for a long time, now Leanne is getting it despite his fuss to stay with her and not Peter even after she divorced his dad and could have walked away. Simon is much worse than Amy because at least she doesn't cover up her nastiness by pretending to be nice.

If I was stuck with Leanne I'd be like that too. Having said that I'm not a fan of either Simon or Amy
I can't take either character seriously anymore as Amy should be dead and Simon should be living with Peter following the death of Leanne in that fire.

I agree fully! Maybe it is because she has the McDonalds to.
From what in gathe, Simon needed a mum when he was younger wich was why he wanted to stay with her. Now he's getting into his teenage years he needs a dad which is why he's lashing out
Tbh also when only with Peter he had no mum so having Leanne filled that hole. Now he's missing a dad and he wants that hole filled and is lashing out at Leanne as a result

Nick Tilsley loves him like his own son though?
I think Amy is a good character the actress is also pretty good, Simon is just awful I've never liked him but the older he gets the worse he becomes.
Cannot stand Simon, and this even crueller than usual streak he's on at the minute is unbearable.
Love Amy though, she's great. Still makes me chuckle thinking of how she tricked Steve and Tracy in to dressing up to go to that museum last year!

Simon and Amy are Shakesperian compared with Faye; I have never understood why she was kept on, but you have just explained that. . Simon is playing the part of a moody pre-teen very well, and Amy is a mini-Blanche. I liked it when she told those greedy old women to stop stealing food from the funeral spread and go to the supermarket like everyone else.
Amy i like, decent little actress and a good character.
