Can anyone else recall if Roy was involved in any storylines by himself after his introduction and before Hayley was introduced. If I remember rightly Hayley came into Corrie in 98, so he would have been on his own for almost 3 years at least.

He only became a central character when Hayley joined, but there was a small storyline about Alec Gilroy trying to sign him up to entertain people with his perfect memory, and then in early 1997 him buying the cafe from Alma.
I remember the Wayne storyline - there used to be a game on the Corrie website, based on the eps where they ran away with him but I can't for the life of me remember what you had to do in it.
Roy was a totally different character for his first three years or so. I think they essentially created a new character in 1998 but kept the name and actor.
