Where did I say I wanted to do something about it? I just would like people to be honest and stop bullshitting. And for people to stop covering for the bullshit.

I think sinful is the wrong word.
I'd say they'd be hesitant because of it fitting around certain dietary requirements, abundance of alcohol, praying issue, lack of privacy showering...etc.
However, I think most people would find most of those an issue, regardless of religion.
The burkha comment is rather lowbrow, as most Muslims don't observe that in the UK.
I wouldn't be surprised if the channel 5 producers don't see the potential of having practising Muslims, Hindus, Jews...etc.
The show was a social experiment to begin with, now it's a platform for the wannabe cockroaches of our modern society.

Can anyone be bothered to trawl back through every series and work out what percentage of BB contestants have been non-white?

I'd be happy to bet its higher than the 12% (last census) of population. Which puts the "token" theory to bed. In fact I recall one series where I'd guess around 40% were non white (BB6?) - I have no problem with this whatsover, but it is nonetheless an over-represention. Nothing wrong with that, but don't give me the "token black man" bollocks!

The show's always been packed with prejudiced people from many differing backgrounds. It's like the producers want bigmouths who don't care about putting their foot in their mouth or something...

I don't whole heartedly agree that black people are 'token's etc anymore.
However, I do think that Big Brother will never have a black female winner.

I just don't think the UK is ready to support one without them being portrayed as 'bitchy, arrogant, slutty' etc.

Maybe it's the types of girls they are trying to put in. I didn't find Noirin particularly offensive especially compared to the likes of some of the others, yet she was vilified.

Women in general are portrayed badly on the show however I think for black women
standards are completely tougher for them. I think the same for black men unless they fit wholeheartedly into a typically white way of life I.e. Brian Belo and his dumb essex act.

Agreed, I don't think a fat bloke will win either.

I am prejudice against people with the last name of Wisker, I have to admit that.

What 'standards' might they be I wonder? Also, there is no such thing as a 'white way of life'. So being a dumb Essex person is part of a white way of life in that county? Lifestyles are much to do with where people are from and class, not their colour/race.

The racist bit happens just after, when Nick talks about people thinking Darren could be a drug dealer because he can support three kids!

God, I'd forgotten what a twunt Nick was. ”

I was also puzzled by Charley Traver's comment to Gina Rio when she asked her if she was an "Escort"?

I would love to have a revert to islam on BB, Orthodox Jew, but I cannot see them on BB. An Irish traveler/Romany Gypsy and a rich Russian oligarchs' child.

Standards as in what it takes to be an accepted female in society. So don't wonder. It's obvious as we see them every day. A woman sleeps with two men, she's a slapper; a man sleeps with two women, he's a stud (not my beliefs). I FEEL i.e. my opinion. Is that if a black woman were to exhibit traits remotely similar to say Jade did this season, she would be villified. I love Jade btw. Or it may be a case (as I have stated) of Big Brother picking the 'wrong types of black women'.

I am sensitive about this issue as I am black from a single parent family. I look up to strong black women and although Big Brother is no way a paradigm for living life, it would be nice to see a black girl who does well in there for being ' a normal girl' like Chloe. I don't think it will ever happen.

Me mentioning 'a white way of life' is me being politically incorrect.
When the majority of people think of Essex and then Towie, do they think of a black guy or girl? Dreadlocks? No. That's my point. Basically following attributes that are successful for white people as Brian embarrassingly tries to pull of (even claiming he started TOWIE).

Now please don't try and jump in saying I think we are a different species but the UK was predominently white and was represented as that in the majority of TV programmes, films etc It is my own chip on my shoulder that means I sometimes do still think of programmes like Towie as predominantly white for one reason, not that it's racist but a hot black lad or girl just wouldn't fit their image.

That's an essay but please, don't try and be dismissive etc based on trying to score bitchy points. I'm a black man and these are my views on how I've felt throughout watching Big Brother my entire life and all of the women that have been involved in it.

I like it when they don't censor things. It provides more debate and discussion about the issue like with Nick and Darren. Problem is BB is so worried it will offend and anyone who says anything misguided would be lynched by the mob so it has to be consored or removed.
