She does have a lasting impact in the form of Jack. I do think it's a bit odd that Tyrone doesn't seem to be even slightly uncomfortable working under the guy that impregnated his now dead, long-term partner.

What about Dan Sullivan? He was a pretty big character in the late 90s/early 00s. He was one of a semi villainous characters, had hopes of getting the Vic and was a suspect in the Who Shot Phil Mitchell storyline. Hasn't really left much of lasting impact. Even Carol hasn't mentioned him in ages despite being back for five years. They were part of that messy love triangle with Bianca and she was pregnant with his child before having an abortion when finding out about the affair. I guess Bianca's reconciliation with Carol put that issue to bed.

Rachel and Tony off Home and Away, both characters were involved with major storylines during the mid-late 00s and were very loveable characters during their time in Summer Bay, yet they didn't even mention Tony when Gina died, his own sister and Rachel hasn't been mentioned by Leah, her best friend.

I agree that this thread has slightly lost its way down to its confusing nature. Let's examine what the OP asks:

I'm talking about those characters who were pushed to front of the show, maybe had lots of big storylines, or were supposed to be the next big thing, but due to exiting the show, are now completely irrelevant, like they never really existed.

From this, I deduce that they are asking for a list of characters who were supposed to take centre stage and no prisoners with it. That being so, I don't think the likes of Corrie's Molly, Fiona Middleton and Rosie Webster fit the criteria. Neither do EEs Rose Cotton and Joe Macer.

There is also a second question about lasting impact. In this thread, that means lasting impact of those characters who were supposed to headline the show only to leave without so much as a whimper or a second mention. The OP uses the perfect example of all of this with Stella Price.

How about Danny Baldwin and his wife Frankie? Played by relatively well known faces, Bradley Walsh and Debra Stephenson. I remember there being a lot of hype about their arrival, as they were the new generation of Baldwins, Mikes nephew was going to take the factory into the 21St century ( I thought). I got the impression they would be around a long time, but they only lasted a couple of years and left no lasting impact. Apart from Jamie is bringing up Sean son, and barely gets a mention.

What about Nikhil Sharma? His family are still in the show but he left and has been forgotten

Sandy Roscoe was meant to be a big character, mainly because of the casting of Gillian Talyforth, but ended up being utilised very little and has little lasting impact, except the odd mention here and there. I hate how they turned her into Darren's mother and then left it there.

Warren Fox

As soon as the gay bad boy arrived no one was interested in the straight bad boy that was a huge part of why Hollyoaks had it's "golden era"

Scott Anderson, Justin Burton and Clare Devine to!

The last time she was mentioned was some years ago when Zak said they hadn't heard from her in years. Butch and Ben Dingle Zak's dead sons have both been mentioned several times over the years and I think there are even photo's in the Dingle set, but never Tina.”

I maybe going slightly off topic here, so forgive me, but Ben Dingle is a great shout for a minor character who had a huge lasting impact- he was only in half an episode, but his death was the instigator for the arrival if the Dingoe clan.
Also, I completely agree about Tina. She was a really dynamic character, and probably the most interesting of the original Dingle bunch, but nowadays you wouldn't believe she even existed.

I suspect Gillian Taylforth left Hollyoaks so soon because she was given a better offer by somebody else...

I guess another one for Hollyoaks would be Ally, who was heavily promoted at the time with a lot of hype about an explosive secret he was supposed to have, but said secret turned out to be pretty pathetic (I can't remember what it was) and the whole thing fizzled out and he left with basically no effect on anyone else?
