I agree. IMO there was only two great series of CBB on C4 and they were CBB3 and CBB4. We all know what happened with CBB5 and it followed by IMO poor CBB6 and CBB7 (but I did love the Tree of Temptation), then C5 took over and had a poor CBB8, but then IMO, it's been up from CBB9 onwards, with the odd declines with CBB11 and maybe CBB12. But CBB9, 10, 13, 14 and 15 I thought were great.

CBB is better on 5 and they have struck really lucky especially with the cast... I mean CBB13 with Jim, Luisa, Lionel and Lee, CBB14 with Gary, Frenchy and James and CBB15 with Perez. In the final years of C4 CBBs we had some very bad HMs in terms of actual celebrity and quality. At least with 5, lesser HMs like Frenchy provided something.

Despite al of that, regular BB, there is no comparison, C4 was much better, by like 4000 miles.

I dunno; when you see the doing Marc O'Neill got this year - or anyone who supported him - it's quite astonishing how strongly supported Pete Burns (who makes Marc look like Barney) was on here. I rewetted this as couple of years ago and looked back through the forums from the time. The more vicious he was, the more cheered he was on here. He was obnoxious and bitter. Quick wit is well and good; but he did nothing with it except bring others down.

On top of which, Chantelle was one of the worst winners ever. Dull, dull, dull showmance-driven pre-determined winner.

I loved Pete and couldn't stand Marc - the are two big differences,

1) Pete was completely unscripted vitriol, he was highly intelligent and made amazing tv all unscripted - Marc knew all the characters coming into the house, he was so planned in EVERYTHING he said, it was just desperate, and his depsperation for fame was so evident and drove everything he did, the house was better after the Marc show stopped

2) Pete was a pr!ck but he was extremely witty and articulate, he just got what made everyone there tick and was fascinating to watch, Marc thinks he is intelligent becasue he has a degree (so what) but was such a try too hard when it came to his attempts to cause what he deemed 'contraversy'

You know the way they say that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit? Well it isn't. Nasty personal 'vitriol' as you so correctly (if bafflingly) admit yourself, is the lowest form of wit.

The main difference between Pete and Marc for me is that Marc is a wind-up merchant who's clearly quite soft behind it all. He didn't go after the weak characters; he went after the strong ones. Pete came across as bitter and rotten to the core. He went after the weak characters and befriended the strong ones.

I do agree with you and fully admit Pete wasnt a nice person (obviously very mssed up and insecure look at his face!) but he was amazing tv because to me he was fascinating to watch.

I actually find 'wind up merchants' like Marc far worse then Pete's sarcasm. Marc was always 'i'm only joking' immediately not allowing the person on the receiving end to feel hurt by his spiteful comment. Pete at least addmited he was a pr!ck - Marc tried to pathetically hide it by saying he was always 'joking'

Cbb4 was all evil.
So this was 2005/2006? Ten years ago! I'd say civilian bb was peaking then too.”

Series 3 is the most underrated series of all time. If I remember rightly, it rated quite badly at the time too.

Series 3 is my second favourite, absolutely loved it too. And agree what a cast, John Mccirrick was tv gold, bez and brigitte were lovelable nutters, and agree you had kenzie as the young naieve one. And of course there was Its Wackie! I must go watch it next!

CH5 rehash the same old twists/tasks, have weaker presenters, have had Marcus Bentley as a looney, have the idiotic transition shots of HMs making faces at the camera etc.

How anyone can say CH5 is better I will never understand.

It was a great series but with almost no one likeable or noticeable enough to win.

I think I supported Maggot!

Never was a fan of Chantelle and haven't become one since!

Eta: would you like me to be the cat?
