"Jorgie Porter, to many fans, is Hollyoaks"

😂😂😂😂

What a poorly written and sourced article. Far worse than a Hollyoaks script.

Hollyoaks has never troubled its big three soap competitors in the viewing figures department but last month ratings fell so low that even its biggest fans would be right to be worried.

The show has always split its audience by airing the main episode on Channel 4, and the day after's episode on E4, but with an episode at the end of June bringing in just 430k viewers, fans could be right to be worried.

When the press pick up on this - it is doomed..

"Jorgie Porter, to many fans, is Hollyoaks." Really?

What an awful article. Nothing actually of news or interest in the whole thing

This is a poorly written, glued together Mirror article that addresses completely irrelevant issues.

1. Sacking Stephanie Davis, Helen Pearson's driving ban and Jorgie Porter quitting (she did before and came back after Dancing on Ice) have nothing to do with HO's creative problems. They are all independent of each other.

2. I don't even think the bitchy backstage attitude (which is only summed up by James Sutton's tweet) is a massive issue in the bigger scheme of things.

3. Scrapping Danniella Westbrook's return was one of the few wise decisions they made. Such a 'saviour' of HO.

4. That one crap rating happened like two Fridays ago and has since bounced back. HO's ratings as a whole have fallen but it's not caused any reported crisis talks.

5. The report is correct, however, when it mentions the sensationalist plot lines. Shame the Mirror didn't even try to cover it in any depth. The one thing that can redeem HO creatively will be if Kirkwood leaves or gets asked to hit the road by Channel 4. I pray that someone high up has the balls to step up to the plate and get him to go. The man is wrecking the show. I think this is the main reason many people are having problems with the show, not really the first three problems. The ratings could improve if he goes and they restore some sanity.

You'd think from that article that a lot of fans arent watching because Helen Pearson was caught drink driving.

Absolutely amateur article, most of it is copy and pasted from the Mirror's other articles on the incidents it mentions. Helen Pearson's driving ban is irrelevant to the show, it's not like a soap first either, Rita from Corrie was caught drink driving last year.

Stephanie Davis' sacking is the only incident in there that indicates drama backstage and even still, that is concerning just one actress.

BIB - Snort! It's in a bad way but surely it's not quite in that bad a way! Or is it?

Cast issues aside, they've got a point about the ratings and the storylines!

I had to do a double take when I read that!! LOL!!

Sounds to me like the writer of the article either seriously fancies Jorgie or was knocking them back while he wrote it.

Makes a change from the Corrie "In Crisis" articles that the Daily Mirror love to write.

Exactly. The only thing useful you can do with a red top is to line the bottom of your bird cage, utter crap.

The article was very poor, even for the Mirror's standards. I bet Know one on the Mirror would know a Hollyoaks actor if they fell over one. I am sure they have never watched an episode of Hollyoaks. I suppose the only good thing to say about the Mirror is at least they are not phone hacking anymore?

Tony, Jack, Frankie, Nancy, Mercedes and Darren are Hollyoaks to me if I had to pick significant cast.

Exactly! Tony is the remaining HO original if we look back to the very beginning, though all of those you've mentioned definitely define the show more than....Theresa McQueen.

At least she belongs to an important family on the show. It would've been scraping the barrel/blasphemy if someone tried to imply Roscoe was 'Hollyoaks'.

Nah, Roscoe won't be leaving us any time soon. His permanently startled snout is too deep in that trough

As long as Birkwood is there the Roscoes will be, sadly.

Has anyone started some online petition to give Kirkwood the boot?

That article was almost as melodramatic as Hollyjokes itself.

Almost.

Most interesting thing about that article was the fact that Helen Pearson lives in London!

Long haul to work every day!

And she can't even drive herself now.
