Yougurt

Bought a 500g tub of rhubarb & vanilla with a touch of lemongrass on Saturday . The best tasting yogurt I have ever had . Most rhubarb yogurts I have tried seem too sweet , but not this version has a creamy tangy ting to it .

The company is The Collective Diary , other flavours they do are pink grapefruit , passion fruit , coconut & lime Russian fudge ,& others.

I have no connection to the company , just thought it warranted praise

It depends. Tesco, Co Op, Sainsburys, Waitrose.

Go to their website and type in your postal code.

Thanks for replies. I must track down this delicious yogurt!

I completely gave up buying flavoured yoghurt when I found out about the colossal amount of sugar that gets added to it. I also find is incredible that Morrisons no longer sells any kind of own-brand, plain live yoghurt, but I don't think Tesco does either.

Edit: just checked and Morrisons, "Contains Live Culture, Bifidobacterium BB-12®", although I couldn't see this anywhere on the pot when I was in the store. I still wouldn't buy it anyway, as it contains 11.6 grams of sugar! What the hell for?

Very sugary stuff but when I do have it I like it quite basic e.g. Ski Smooth.

I don't like bits.

I only buy plain or Greek yogurt as well. I believe if the nutrition values are given per 100g, the first 4g of sugar in a dairy product is lactose, the naturally occurring sugar. The rest... well, I dunno, are there sweeteners listed in the ingredients?

I don't understand why a few years ago, most yoghurts boasted about the inclusion of live bio-cultures, but now it's as if they're trying to hide it. I really can't see any point at all in buying any kind of non-live yoghurt. You might as well just buy a pot of custard.

I tend to stick to just WeightWatchers yoghurts (I like the apple pie(?) and the lemon meringue pie flavours with a berry & white chocolate shot pack).

One of my favourite yoghurt brands is the Ubley yoghurts though - I don't know what it is, but their strawberry yoghurt is so lovely. We had it in the Priory, and I have never actually found it anywhere else yet, but would definitely buy if I saw it!

I always like the sound of the lemon curd flavour yoghurt they do in Waitrose too.

They do a lemon curd flavour in the co-op, too.

But they don't do Collective Dairy yogs at my local co-op, even though it says on the Collective Dairy website that they do.

I don't usually like Muller yogs, but the Muller Bliss corner ones with whipped yogurt and lemon are delicious.

I know, as barbeler says, that these sorts of yogurt are just like buying a pot of custard, or trifle, but I'm completely hooked.

I have never found the gooseberry or lemon ones though.

My fave yogurt is by Lidl and it's the creamy Greek yogurt by Milbona. It is lush! I love the consistency and the taste. I eat it plain or add fresh mango, strawberries, raspberries, banana etc. It comes in a big 1 kg pot or small individual ones.

The Co-Op must surely be the most expensive place on earth to buy yoghurt. They have it reduced for quick sale at a price that exceeds the standard price for the same item in Morrisons.

I live miles from anywhere and my only transport is the bus. It's the Co-Op, Tesco Express or Farmfoods for shopping, unless I want to spend all day doing it, which I don't very often. Of these three, Co-Op has the most variety, yoghurt wise.

For all those yogurt fans here, I'd highly recommend "Fage" Greek yogurt.

By adding your own ingredients and flavours you can create the most amazing things, and far tastier than anything you could buy, but it's so delicious, just on its own it's pretty addictive too.

I'm completely hooked.

I absolutely love the Alpro Almond and Coconut 500g tubs. So tasty and you wouldn't even know it's not dairy. I like it for breakfast with fruit but also sometimes have them as a dessert too.

Better still it's only 2g sugar per 100g as I'm looking to cut down

Is there anywhere where you can buy genuinely pure, healthy, unadulterated live yoghurt without any added sugar whatsoever? I'm afraid I really can't be bothered to make my own.

You should have a little look in any food shops from those around the world shops if you get a chance, we bought some organic Algerian honey, it was only around £4 too, I've tasted nothing like it, highly recommended!

Pakeeza live yogurt.

Tasty, tangy and delicious in curries etc, also very cheap, at around 60p a tub.

Even nicer with a few chopped walnuts in.

I use natural yoghurt and fruit most of the time (Currently nectarines poached in honey and ginger), but I sometimes stray from the path and indulge in some flavoured ones, especially unusual flavours as in the OP. (Still haven't found that one, btw. )

I'm just a yoghurt junkie.

That crunch accompanies the yoghurt perfectly!

I tend not to shop in supermarkets much, but had to pop in to Sainsburys last night, glad I did, they had 1kg tubs of Fage 0% fat real greek yoghurt for only £4.50.
