Right I have watched Coronation Street from the 80's and for the life of me I can't remember her marrying Robert. She said tonight that theywere married for 6 years, there's no way that was on screen was it?

From memory, he was hardly seen. She told her family he had been unfaithful but that wasn't true; he divorced her for being unfaithful.

Did he live on Coronation Street then or did they both live somewhere else?

As far as I remember they married on screen then disappeared almost immediately off screen for many years to live in London. Kate Ford took over the role of Tracy and her come back storyline was that her and Robert had split up.

I think Tracy was only in it sporadically for a couple of years up to the point of their wedding.

I don't remember him at all, don't know if he was a regular character, but obviously he would have been played by a different actor years ago. However stiĺl have no recollection of him Strange thing is when he turned up last week, everyone was saying "Isn't that Tracey's ex husband Robert" ? As if anyone would even remember him, let alone remember his name, considering all the other men that she's been with over the years.

It was Emily and she would. She's Tracy's Godmother and would take that seriously, so would likely have photos of the wedding etc...

She does have a thing for Roberts though - and I don't mean Audrey!

Even if Emily did have a photo of their wedding tucked away somewhere ( I doubt she would have it on display) would she really recognise him instantly , considering it was almost 20 years ago since they married and moved away? Unless he hasn't changed since 1996.
Just read that he was a carpet fitter then, how convenient that he is now a chef , just as the Bistro is looking for one. Just wondering how does Emily have a thing for Roberts?

I for one do not care that this man is a new Robert, all I know is that Tristan Gemmill is back on my screen and I am loving it. Hope he stays for a long time.

This is what the old Robert and Tracy looked like if no one remembers

I quite like Robert and Tracy together, going to be great for Tracy to have someone that is a good influence on her

He's remarried again or at least in a relationship. I think he is going to break Tracy's heart and she will go back to being baaaad tracy again

If I've read the spoilers right I think
Spoiler

That will be a tester for the new 'selfless' version of Tracy

Emily didn't recognise him 'instantly'. She spent most of the time at the funeral trying to work out who Robert was. She said that she recognised him but couldn't remember precisely who he was. It came to her later in the episode after quite a bit of thinking.

c120701e meant that Tracy has a thing for Roberts (Robert Preston, Rob Donovan) not Emily.

Not unlike the other Rob, I reckon Robert will be a good influence on Tracy but he will dump her when he finds out she caused the fire. Then twisted Tracy will return.

That will be a while off though because we have to see her "change" first lol

Utterly ridiculous isn't it There is nothing natural about Corrie at all. Everything is sign posted to the nth degree. The Bistro needs a new chef, oh I don't know maybe the ex carpet fitter turned Chef could be the answer

Rob was a bad influence on Tracy Tracy is a nasty evil monster all off her own back. Rob wanting to be anywhere near her made zilch sense let alone her ex now turning up who actually knows her wanting her back

I cannot stand how everything is falling in Tracy's lap now. Her Mum dying has done her wonders with everyone feeling sorry for her Has she even had one second thought about Maddie and Kal dying and her own daughter's life put in so much danger because of her ridiculousness It has to come out soon and I only hope her Dad as well as Robert plus the whole street finally and properly ostracize this awful woman once and for all.

I won't argue there but everything falling into Tracy's lap now will mean she has a lot more to lose when the truth about the fire eventually comes out. Which it will.
If she got found out now, everyone would just hate her, which wouldn't be a new experience for her.

Robert wasn't a regular, the original actor Julian Kay only made brief appearances in 1996, 1999 and 2003 and only did 10 episodes in total. At the time Tracy wasn't really a regular part of the cast and would pop up now and again.

I agree with this. Don't get this thing that Tracy is some poor damaged character, she deserves all the harshness that comes her way. Everyone seems to be to blame apart from her, and I'm not looking forward to more of her whining and self pitying when Robert's wife arrives. All these men falling over for her is pathetic, she just uses and manipulates them.

Other villains get some sort of punishment for their schemes, but Tracy gets a new love interest despite plotting to murder Carla and causing a fire which killed two people.

Agree Callum, I just don't get people on here who stick up for Tracy!! There was much righteous indignation about a few people sticking up for Dan when Liz 'outed' him in the Rover's on a recent thread, yet those same people constantly make excuses for Tracy who's a million times worse!!
Also I agree what bloke in real life would give her the time of day???
She's not ugly in appearance but she's not that special, and everything else about her is downright ugly, in spite of her seeming delusion that she's completely irresistsble to all men, an ugly trait in itself!!

She treats everyone like utter crap, even those that don't deserve it at all (and even if they did, what right does she have to interfere?)

Take a few weeks ago when she goaded and mocked Faye - a 13 year old girl - in the street who had just gone through a traumatic experience with giving birth. Now what does somebody like Tony (who despite being a schemer isn't outright evil) want with a woman like that? Yes, how attractive a near 40 year odd woman picking on a young girl.

Don't forget how she also mocked Karen and Becky for being unable to have children and was also spiteful to Claire despite her losing Ashley.

It amazes me how characters like Fiz, Anna, etc who (despite being annoying at times) are treated like villains on here but Tracy gets excuses made for her. At least Fiz and Anna don't go out their way to hurt people.

I like Tristan Gemmill and he is still attractive but he looks so much older than Tracyluv.

I looked up his age and he is bordering on 50 while the previous actor to play the character is only 41 which is nearer Tracy's age.

This is Nick looking like Leanne's sugar daddy all over again.
