You can't go wrong with;

Live & Let Die
Goldfinger
OHMSS (All the time in the world)
Diamonds Are Forever
...and of course the John Barry theme

I also think Skyfall will be seen as classic Bond song, unlike many other Bond themes in the last few years

For me, my fav Bond song is Moonraker, and thanks to the chauffer, I am off to find Shara Nelson's cover!

I did always wonder what Kate Bush would have done with the song if she had agreed to perform it

(from the 1967 non-canonical, spoof version of "Casino Royale" starring David Niven, Woody Allen and Peter Sellers)

6. Live And Let Die - Paul McCartney

7. Nobody Does It Better - Carly Simon.

All early and early-ish ones. The JB themes have been pretty boring since the 1980's (imo).”

Pretty much my faves on that list too, apart from Live And Let Die, which always sounded like 2 different songs put together, but then I never liked most of Wings stuff.

You Only Live Twice is my all time fave Bond song. It's a glorious tune, sung beautifully by Nancy Sinatra. It never gets old.

Me too! I don't understand the hate that this song gets if I'm honest.

I think they've been dross since GoldenEye, apart from You Know My Name, which isn't bad.

Live and Let Die is very good. I've also always liked Lulu's effort (The Man With the Golden Gun), which seems to be disliked by quite a few people. Shirley Bassey's first two songs (Goldfinger and Diamonds Are Forever) are both great. Nobody Does It Better is a contender, but All Time High is possibly my favourite. Always liked Rita Coolidge's voice, and I think this is a classy song. The older I get the more it appeals to me, too.

well considering the "mixed" reception Sam Smith's effort has had, I wonder where people will be placing it in any ranking of Bond themes.

You Only Live Twice, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Nobody Does It Better and Live and Let Die (though I've kinda got sick of that one) are probably the best in no particular order. I actually think You Know My Name from Casino Royale was quite good as well.

Nobody Does It Better, then a 3-way tie - Licence To Kill, Goldeneye and All Time High.

No mentions for Madge and 'Die Another Day' I see. Not a surprise though, it was only via looking at a list of Bond themes on an external site that I realised/remembered she'd even done a Bond theme! I can't even remember what it sounds like though.”

I really like it - This is the first Bond title sequence to directly reflect the film's plot since Dr. No - all the other previous Bond titles are stand-alone set pieces.

I like You Know My Name, and I think it was a good shout for the re-booted Bond. It seems to go well with those playing card titles.

Goldeneye is one of my favourites. I'm not a Tina Turner fan, but like it simply because of the way it starts with that "Bam bam bam bam...." as Bond flies over that exploding dam in the movie.

Lastly, I know it gets slated, but I like Skyfall. It's a terrible title, but the theme has a kind of classic, epicness about it that the older themes have. I like how the Bond theme is worked in as a motif with the piano and guitar.

Nobody seems to like Tomorrow never dies, I do like it a lot.

Licence to kill is classic JB song material< stylish, orchestral, movie feel and sexy.

The world is not enough also with a dramatic touch.

Skyfall and Another way to die are boring and Skyfall is overrated (Adele too)

You are the only person to mention in the same post the 2 really underrated but great themes.....

Lulu - The Man With The Golden Gun, from 1975.

Rita Coolidge - All Time High, from Octopussy in 1983.

All Time High shockingly only ever made one week at No75 in the charts at the time of the film. Awful for such a fabulous song, great singer and all that film publicity with Octopussy, one of the great Bond films ever. In my top three of themes without doubt.

I'll go a step further and say Die Another Day is my fav. I can't stand the overblown dirges that the majority of them are.

1. A View to a Kill
2. Nobody Does it Better
3. License to Kill
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. All Time High

And honorable mention to Die Another Day, it's something different and found it refreshing. I find the Bassey stuff too over the top and too diva for my tastes.

Why doesn't anybody like Tomorrow Never Dies? It's my favourite by a mile, can't believe it's not getting any love.

I like it but not my top 5.

I don't love Skyfall as much as others, and the newest one is dreadful.
