CS - is this the long break for Carla?
Or is she back soon only to disappear later this year?

Oh it's a sabbatical?!...so basically she's leaving to see if she's good at anything else (which I can assure you she's not!) and then she'll have Corrie to fall back on.
![]() Sorry but I don't rate the actress at all. She's typecast (IMO) and her voice is so annoying. How she ends up in the "sexiest female" category at soap awards is seriously beyond me! ![]() It was quite cruel of them to use the word "Quit" and get our hopes up for nothing! ![]() http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...-projects.html |

No date is set for her to return and it's doubtful that a rough timeframe is even in mind. She will be out of contract (evidenced by her desire/plans to try new things) and if she does well it could be a while before we see her again. Essentially Carla is leaving and ITV are dressing it up as a break, like the BBC did when Letitia Dean left EE in 2006. I am not suggesting she won't return but nothing is set in stone.

Coronation Street will be a lot poorer without Carla, probably along with Leanne the best character in Coronation Street at the moment, pleased her break isn't for a while yet.

Is it? Who do you think is the sexiest female then?
There is no one in Coronation St or EastEnders sexier than her. Good actress but the show won't fall apart without her! I am seriously ready for the rest from her, at least two years please Alison!! |

She's not taking her break until next year. All they've said so far is that it will be some time in 2016.

Break or permanent, I wish she was departing on a high. This is such poor character development. I would rather have seen her discover that Tracy set her up for the fire and then see her take revenge, before leaving. Yes I know Deirdre has just died but Tracy deserves to be taken down and Carla could have exacted some sort of revenge without resorting to being dragged into a downward cycle of drinking, betting and brawling. Typical SB approach, turn a strong woman into a desperate skanky shell of what they were.

I don't think her exit would be as unremarkable as what we have seen
