I don't believe Lauren and Peter even told Ian and Jane about the pregnancy before they left did they? So Ian will have no idea he's about to become a grandad.

The only one who knows is Max besides Peter & Lauren, I'm guessing if Lauren will be returning it will on her own with baby, as it seems to early to recast Peter, Jac Jossa was visiting on set last week with her family she would be nearing the end of her maternity soon, not sure if she still in contract tho.
