Bt Home Hub 5
I have a BT Home Hub 5, I have been given a New Sky Hub and would like to use this as a router. How do I configure the Hubs so that I can use them. I will be connecting the Sky Hub via a Comtrend Powerline unit.

Who is your ISP and what do you hope to gain by changing to (or adding?) the Sky hub in your set up?

I am with BT, My wireless broadband is very poor and I want to use the Sky Hub as a wired router to link my TV, DVD player, android box etc. to my BT Hub.

Log onto the Sky hub:
Disable DHCP Change the IP address to one within the range of your BT Hub (If your BT Hub is 192.168.1.1, set the Sky Hub to 192.168.1.2). Set the same SSID (Network Name) as your BT Hub. Set the WPA Password to the same as your BT Hub. Change the Wireless Channel so that it's different on each router (If the BT one is on Channel 1, Set the Sky Hub to Channel 11). This should create one big network and allow use to use the ports on each router as s wired switch. Your wireless devices will also "roam" between each router depending on the strongest signal. |

Thanks very much, I will try that over the next few days and hopefully that will make things better. I have BT infinity 38mb download 9mb upload, supposedly.
During the day it is fine but in the evening my wired speed goes down to 7mb and the wireless to less than 2mb. BT have been looking at this for a month now with no success. They are a complete waste of time. |
