£449 for 32gb Nexus 6P, reasonable for the specs but we've been ripped off compared to America, not as much as Europe mind.

At a guess £349 for the 16GB Nexus 5X, £399 for 32GB and £449 for 64GB if announced.

LG V10 is their new premium phone. It's has a dual display which stays on when the main screen goes off. Its slightly bigger than the G4 with a 5.7 " display and maintains a removable battery and SD support. Internal storage is a sensible 64GB and has 4GB of Ram.

I quite like it, has some new features for a change, some arguably gimmicky but some very useful.
The first phone with manual video recording, which also has audio monitoring and uses the secondary display for extra settings. Also has a 21:9 ratio option. In combination with the same sensor as the G4 that should make it one of if not the very best video phone.
The dual front facing cameras can be combined to give 120° pictures instead of 80°, although I think most would have preferred a front facing flash instead.
Looks to have the same fingerprint sensor as the Nexus 5X which is reported to work well with unlock speeds of 0.6s.
Slight disappointments are the down firing mono speaker and 3000mAh battery, not sure how good the battery life will be considering the G4 isn't great either. Also price and availability, it could be November/December before it reaches British shores and it isn't likely to be cheap.

I had initially considered the LG G4 as a replacement for my Samsung Galaxy S4 (the S6 was clearly not what I wanted). However the G4 wasn't quite reaching the mark. Even the flawed S6 had some advantages over the G4. However the V10 looks to finally hit the mark.

However having watched the keynote there is no mention of it being released in Europe

The problem with the G4 is the battery. It's not enough when you really start to use it a lot (as you will with such a nice camera).

But you can pay £35 or so for a spare battery and charger, which does partially compensate as it means not having to have the phone itself hooked up to a portable charger - you can have the battery in its separate case charging.

Am liking the V10! Not so keen on the back, although it looks durable it looks relatively thick and chunky compared to other new phones - but the ticker display is intriguing, and looks much more useful to me than the Galaxy edge. Any news on how it will be available in the UK?

The extra bit of screen is a kludge. If it had been completely separate (Tag Heuer Meridiist?) maybe it would have had some benefit.

But the way LG have done it, its effectively nothing more than a slightly larger (and irregular) screen.

I'm probably going simple on my next upgrade. Z5 compact, just hope that Vodafone have a choice of colours by the end of the month - currently only listed in black.

If it gives day + screen on battery life, and it is fully implimented then it could be invaluable.

This will sound terrible to some and people will think I'm an apple fan boy. But at moment I think the way iPhones are branded in numbers and s is the right way to go with current devices. There is hardly any difference year to year in devices now and market is becoming saturated. With iPhones everyone knows the number devices are the main improvement devices where as the s devices are minor improvements on the number devices.

It makes things less confusing for average customers specially compared to Sony devices those are getting crazy.

Just bought the Moto X Style. First opinions are very impressive. It fits well in the hand and you can easily use with one hand.

Nice and responsive and looks good. Amazon have it at a decent price as well.

I've had to get a nano sim, so done the swap instructions that the network gave me. Seems to have worked, other than in the settings I notice that the phone number is showing still as the new one that was with the new sim, yet my calls and texts are coming through it appears.

Is that normal?

My Style just arrived yesterday,its not as big as i thought it was going to be.Just a shade bigger than the G3.The screen looks a lot better than my G3 despite also being QHD.
Photos are unreal so much detail and crystal clear.Picked up a cheap case and screenguard off ebay,nice touch having the clear bumper in the box but i like a little more protection.

Don't worry the number on the SIM isn't related to your account. You could edit that and it perhaps an OTA SIM update will change it.

Your number is actually directed to a SIM identity, which is how it's so quick and easy to swap a SIM.

Yes its an amazing phone and you can't say its not as usable as the iPhone plus, feels actually better in the hand.

The only grip is the proximity sensor as can you turn this feature off? Sure the phone comes on in my pocket.

I remember seeing it the settings to turn it off but that means having to hit the power button to wake it.Its an active screen much like the G3 but different method.
Ive left it on will see what battery life is like after a week or so.

It is a cracking phone though and I think unless your going for the more expensive Nexus this is the phone to go for. It has surprised me how good the build quality is for this phone compared to what was cheap plastics on the nexus 4.

I bought mine via Amazon, does appear they are selling well given the limited stock now on the white phones and sold out of the black.

I think the setting is in the Moto app if I remember correctly. It never gave me many problems on the 2014 Moto X but this time it is LCD and not AMOLED.

I'm interested to hear you find it comfortable to use in one hand given the size of it. Do you have big hands or do the ergonomics really help?

I think it's probably more the ergonomics as it does just fit and works. I don't think my hands are particularly big, as I was a little concerned that maybe this was going to be too big. So glad I'm wrong. I think this is probably the perfect large screen size.

Due for release on October 20th apparantly. Some rumours had it using the next gen Helio X20 but I always got the impression that any X20s were meant for winter launch, not autumn. Counting the mp3 playing sensor hub core, it is 11 cores.

Has anyone here purchased a Sony Xperia Z5 or planning on getting one?

The Z5 Premium will be available from 13th Nov.

I'm considering the Z5 Compact, but from what I've seen of the camera, its another case of Sony having excellent hardware, but lousy post processing. Issues over camera speed (slow to start up) and ultimately what appears to be ropy image quality.

By the looks of it, they're barely any better than the Z3.

The camera does take a long time to open on the Z5. Probably because the camera app and checking for all the plug ins must now have made the app extremely large.

Rumours are there's an all new camera app coming (and you can use third party apps) but you still can't really avoid the post processing that Sony just can't get right, yet others using their image sensors can.

The Z5 Compact just looks cheap and bulky in my opinion. The design makes it look chunkier than it is, and I'd have thought you'd try to make it look slimmer. That said, it's always nice that a smaller screen device isn't crippled hardware wise.
