Maybe to quash some of the bad stuff she's seen about her since she left the house (I honestly don't know what I would do in that position so I'm just speculating).

I completely agree.
Many charities pay as little as they can get away with to the absolutely
amazing staff on the ground, while having loads of executives who do nothing imo to justify their wages into the six figures.
Jimmy Savile hid his activities from the public (not from the many 'in the know' of course) behind his 'charitable' activities ffs. If folk think that's changed (not necessarily the abuse, but certainly the financial scam) they're in cloud cuckoo land imo
I've taken a disabled relative to A&E a lot recently (alas) and a lot of the chatter between the ambulance crews in the corridors is about what company they work for and how much they get paid - ofc the NHS is at the bottom of the scale
It's being sold off because it makes a loss, only for the private companies to miraculously suddenly turn a profit (at taxpayers' expense), and guess who to? Mates and cronies of the government and others in power most often.
All the while the bankers get billion for fixing all this. This world (and this country in particular) is nuts
