I have to say, I'm quite happy not having Dot around.

Right now we have 3 original characters in Ian, Sharon and the returning Kathy while also having the likes of Martin, Carol (who is sadly departing), Phil and Sonia who equally fill the long term character quota. So despite the absences of the 3 P's (Pat, Pauline and Peggy) the show has plenty of legacy characters on the Square.

And I have to admit, I like just seeing Dot pop up every now and then whenever someone is going to visit her. It gives June Brown a much needed rest while keeping her around whenever she is required. There is only so much a character of Dot's age can get up to without risking ruining their characters (ala Pauline) and it's a much better use of her character than killing her off before her time (ala Pat) or wheeling her back in some kind of contrived way (ala Peggy).

I say keep Dot behind bars until June is finally ready to give up the wig and pinny.

No. Outside of when she has storylines like the Charlie/Nick stuff last year she does just pop up every now and then anyway. She doesn't need to be in prison for that.

As you know I'm the beacon of justice for this forum, and I simply cannot have another murderer roaming around the square. It's hard enough to keep track of all the ones just going around murdering whoever and whenever they like, without serial killer Dot complicating things.

Murderous Bob, Hot Murderous Stacey, Fatboy, Murderous Pam, Murderous Abi, Bitchell, and Phil are plenty to be going on with. I'm probably forgetting some too.

I'd like to see them do a prison break storyline. Dot can organise a break out.

Dot won't want to leave prison, I have said before Dot is the ultimate top dog on her wing! Stealing fags off her inmates and threatening them with a bible reading or a little 'injection' if they play up. She has seen off her best mate and her own son and had mixed with the criminal underworld of Walford, she is one top bitch not to be messed with!

I agree with you, Dot is a bit of a tedious character to endure these days.

Imagine after all that time doing as the bible says, she still goes to hell. Life well spent? Would be good to see her rebel Lol.

They should do a Dot's prison diaries spin off where she and the other inmates have a bible group like in OITNB

I'd forgotten she was in prison until opening this thread. Her storyline with Nick/Yvonne/Charlie was rubbish IMO but I'd have her back in her traditional role at the helm of the laundrette and general advice giver.

When Dot finally does get out she's gonna have one hell of a backlog to clear at the launderette.

Yes she wanted some rest, with her losing her sight as well as her age she's finding the hours more and more difficult, so she only does short spells now

Forget about the last two amateurs.

Bobby Bloodbath has already owned the Philth - when Dot 'Destination Death' Cotton gets out it will be a brutal war for survival.

My money is on Bobby - the torch has to be passed sometime and Lucifer wants Dot for an assistant - the Satanic pact she signed with him is now finally due to be honoured.

Let the battle commence.
