Why did Taylor Swift decide not release the original version Bad Blood..?

Its better than the rap version in my opinion, as the rap version barely has any input from her apart from on the chorus and the bridge at the end. Whats the point?

It may as well be Kendrick Lamar Ft Taylor Swift and not the other way around.

The album version is a much better track.

I like the extra production on the rap version as it gives the song a bit more bite, but hate the rapping.

So it would be a hit. Obviously. If they'd just released the album version who'd have bought it? All her fans already had the album.
When I was buying records in the 70s and 80s artists would release 12" remixes which I would buy, even if I had the album. It's the same reason.

Rap version much superior in my opinion both because of the production changes and because Kendrick Lamar is great.

The rap version elevated the song to the next level. I love Taylor and I like the original Bad Blood but the verses felt a bit too "high school drama". Kendrick's input turned the song into a real "diss" track. The added production gives it a better vibe too, the original is slightly hollow and lacking in production.

But I don't get why people say it's basically Kendrick FT Taylor. On the new version Taylor opens the track, sings 2 pre-choruses, 3 choruses and a bridge vs Kendrick singing on 2 verses.

She could have added the production from the rap version to the single release of the original version and it would have been MUCH better.

And it really IS Kedrick Lamar Ft Taylor. She's basically been relegated to a backing singer for the track or guest vocalist. It's no longer her own song.

Except for the fact that the majority of the song is her singing.

....the same bits over and over while he raps the main content of the song.

She's singing the chorus-y bridge-y bits like a featured artist not the main artist.
