All you have to do is say "no comment" when questioned

Tip for Walford police: don't arrest someone on suspicion of murder with no evidence to back it up.

He didn't actually murder anyone though so he didn't get away with anything.

He was wrongfully arrested, he doesn't have to say squat if he doesn't want.

It is up to the police to prove he did it, not for him to convince them otherwise. They don't have any evidence so obviously they can't.

He didn't get away with anything for saying "no comment".

He "got away" because a) He's innocent and b) The police had no reason or evidence to charge him.
