I wondered if appearing on the show might be a detriment, but I guess few enough people watch it now for them to get away with not mentioning it as long as they don't do anything truly awful.

I think Rachel Rice became a teacher after her stint on big brother. Then again she never really did anything that could jeopardise her chances of becoming a teacher.

I'm happy to hear Callum became a teacher in the end. Jackie Travers was horrible to him, especially when she implied he would never become a teacher after the way he acted throughout the series.

She didn't, but I think a lot of the time just being on it would be enough. If someone hadn't seen your series, they wouldn't know how you'd been on the show. I think those people who have been teachers have probably not mentioned Big Brother on their CVs, and hoped that no one found out.

ikr!! What a person does in the bedroom has no bearing on how they'd teach. The only way I can see it being iffy on BB is if someone 28+ or so dated a HM in their teens, if they wanted to twach secondary.

Benedict was indeed a teacher, though he was suspended by his school when they found out about his 'Johnny Anglais' alter-ego. I think that gave him an extra bee in his bonnet about how sex is a normal thing.

Probably he would never have ended up on BB if his teaching job hadn't been jeopardised. Whether he applied for BB as a result or Endemol actively sought him out after seeing the story in the papers, who knows?
