Stacey Slater in 2009 - "I saw Dad the other day"
With this key storyline going on and hinting that it involves Brian Slater in some way, this particular quote from one of Stacey's bipolar episodes came back to me, where Stacey told Jean that she seen her Dad Brain in the street the other day.
Now Stacey was of course out of it mentally and continued to say "I see loads of people. People I don't even recognize" and Jean - like the audience - accepted that with Brian dead, Stacey was having a psychotic hallucination when she seen her father, with Jean reaffirming "Dad's dead darling" and "That must be very confusing for you". However, when I first watched it, for a split mini-second, I thought What if Stacey actually had seen her Dad alive and we all assume - with even Stacey eventually rationalizing it - that seeing Brian was simply a hallucination. With this whole key business, this theory makes me think it could be a possibility, with there being more to the story - and it seems quite DTC. What would you all think if this turned out to be the case? For me I kind of hope this isn't the way it goes, cause it seems like a really desperate way to get Stacey some immediate family on the show because she does seem so directionless right now - and I personally think that is actually the fault of the storyliners because there are good stories that could be done with Stacey given any imagination. Although this story is better than Sean being Kat's son.

Does Sean have his Dad held in storage? ![]() ![]() Maybe Brian was involved with something dodgy, which he had to fake his death for? And the key opens or leads to whatever that is. Or the key could open something that proves Brian is alive. |

The only thing making me think no is Kathy.
Would they really have two people previously presumed dead off screen both turn up alive? Then again, they love having pregnancies being passed around like STD's so anything's possible.

Stacey and Sharon are sisters?
![]() Then Sharon starts popping Stacey's pills. You may be onto something CG. DTC loves his secret kids/parents so a little bit of overblown repetition ain't gonna stop him! |

That's another thing that makes me think it shouldn't happen, because credibility of bringing back two presumed dead characters in such a short space of time is asking far too much. But then again yeah, this is DTC

But didn't Sean have a whole storyline around admitting to killing him or something? I may have imagined it though or be thinking of Phil killing his dad?

No you're right but then again Sean had the key, maybe he was in on it? Or does actually think he killed his Dad but didn't, and the key lead to the reason behind why Brian faked his death?

im wondering if brian was married before he met jean and married her. i think he may have been successful at his job but had a nervous breakdown or something and the ex wife was trying to claim money or items of brians that he stashed away. these items have been left to stacey and sean but they have had to hide it from ex wife and they were only found after brian had died and sean went through his things.
