I worked for BT up until a month ago and I can only apologise to customers of them on their price increases for BT Sport etc.

You have no idea how many customers I spoke to over the phone that I just wanted to say "I want to just cancel this or keep it free for you" because the changes are bullshit and unjustified.

The whole 12 months I worked in that centre, we were constantly being told how amazing BT was doing in terms of profits and share price and they still do things like this just to earn more money.

They say "customer first" but whenever I spoke to customers on the phone and wanted to help and promote loyalty and still keeping BT a contracted customer, managers told me I was not to do so and keep the price as it is or improve (even if it was an elderly lady who had no need for anything fancy on top of her comfortable service that she was used to!!!).

This didn't and still doesn't sit well with me. So, luckily I got a face-to-face customer retail job and going back to uni in September.

Again, I can only apologise to any BT customers on here who have had poor experiences because they'll pretend they care but they're awful. I was never allowed to say this on the phone but now I'm out, I can publicly say to you guys - if you want to cancel, go for it and go for a service that's right for you!

I left BT many years ago when I found a better and cheaper service, The way I was spoken to when trying to get my MAC code was disgraceful and I was refused it more than once (I was years and years out of contract and paying more than I should).

And then I got a final bill with trumped up charges for going over my GB limit (my contract was for unlimited), I felt that I was just a cash cow to them and that upon leaving they showed their true colours.

I will never use another BT service, I still get come back to BT propaganda at least once a year.

About three weeks ago received e mail from BT advising me of the new sports package and my subscription was up for renewal.

Phoned and stated I did not want want to alter my basic free sports package.
Renewed my contract.

Two days late checked my 1571 facility - disconnected.
Rang BT and asked what was going on - apology and reinstated.

Next day received another phone call asking me to consider taking the new sports package-told caller I had already declined. He promised I would be removed from the caller list.

Two days later I checked my phone usage-my unlimited phone call package had been
removed and I was being charged for all the calls.

Annoyed and rang BT-took 20 minutes to get an answer and a further 30 minutes to
get my phone package reinstated and full refund for the calls which I should not have
been charged.

Next day I received another phone call asking me to take up the new sports package.
Very annoyed by this time you can imagine my response.

Gets worse - next day-same call-obviously no one is reading any instructions added to my file.

I really wiped the floor with this operator.
All the callers have Scots accent.

I can only presume that the take up for the new £5 + sports package is so poor
that operators are under severe pressure to improve the take up.

Going from my experience there is something very wrong with the current BT
management.

Next day another phone

So wiping the floor with the advisor in the phone was the right thing to do.

Idiot.

Made one of the best decisions ever to move away from BT Due to their appaling service (weren't interested in talking to me when my contract was up for renewal so in retaliation I stopped paying and switched to talk talk) they threatened me with debt collectors 2 months ago and i'm still waiting for that so called letter

Ive just left BT, fed up paying for billion pound football deals as part of my subscription.

Previously I'd cancelled my "free" BT Sport package (before the sneaky price rise) which took an age to complete. The operator was following a script and kept trying to sell me various TV upgrades which I'd explained I didn't want. That was the final straw.

You should have just said "no" after everything they asked you. I wouldn't have gotten into a conversation with them. It's the idiot head ones that are the greedy pigs.

I think they'd get sick of someone just saying no instead of engaging in a conversation with them. They'd soon get the message. Even though they may act like it when trying to sell something to a customer, they're still human beings, and they'll get sick of someone just saying no after everything they ask. It might take a bit, but they'll most likely get sick. If they asked why you're just saying no, you could then tell them that it's because the phone call is annoying you.

Edit: As for the solar panels, you should have kept asking that person where you could put them, what with you living in a flat. If they're being annoying, play them at their own game.

I was very happy to have moved from BT recently. A freezing BT vision box and a wasted day of my time dealing with engineer at home who would not change box out convinced me to give up on them. I told them that I would jump ship whatever when contract expired and it was only then at contract expiry several months later that they tried to address the issues. Shocking customer service people.

Managed to get the sky fibre deal and do far this is going well. HD picture quality far better on Sky satellite than BT.

They already emailed me 2 months ago saying they had done that but i'm still waiting for so called contact with them. I've offered to them to pay back in installments but bit difficult when they won't communicate with me and what's even more bizzare is my next bill (this is what it says) is not due until 27th April 2025......................
