Me of Lucy Beale's murder. DTC is a very clever man for choosing this particular day when you think about it. It stands out. And I have to say that this entire storyline has been fantastic throughout.

Can someone please also tell me why Jane is called McBeale on here?

Laurie Brett is Scottish that's why she's called McBeale

I thought that lol. I remember the actress saying in an interview that she uses a different accent on EE. Say what you like about 'McBeale' but this storyline has added so much depth to the character, but sadly it looks like she'll go to prison... I fail to see how this one will end!

Yep. No other soaps (as far as I know) have had any monumental storyline events on Good Friday, so that's why it will always stand out for me. Agree with Christmas Day, that's the calendar day in soapland for a big storyline lol.

I can't say for sure, but I think the McBeale thing started when Ian was planning on wearing a kilt to the wedding for Jane.

Ahh, yes. I recall that. Can see Jane handing herself in and protecting Bobby. I like Jane though, so it will be a shame...

I think DTC will hang on to Laurie for as long as he can, he rates her as an actress, whether he will be able to for long is debatable

While I agree Christmas Day is associated with many big storylines, people who are old enough will always associate it with Den giving Angie her divorce papers in Eastenders it had more than 31 million viewer, half of the country at the time and I would argue that's as big and unforgettable as it gets that was 1986.

Good Friday (when Lucy was murdered) was the day after my youngest son was born and he was quite poorly in hospital. We'd had a trip from one hospital to another in an ambulance and he was very unwell. Thankfully he is completely ok now I didn't see any of the Lucy storyline for about 3 weeks and ended up watching most of it during night feeds!

McBeale long predates the kilt wedding nonsense.

Thanks.

One of my friends committed suicide on Good Friday a few years ago so Good Friday will always remind me of that.

Only problem is that the date of Good Friday changes every year ...

What's that got to do with anything?
