She only seemed to care about herself and didn't realise what the consequences could be for Leanne and Simon.

Why doesn't she go round to Leanne and Simon to see if she can be of help? She heard what Dan said to Simon and should realise there could be awful things happening because of it.

Because she's a selfish old bint who's too wrapped up in her sad 'love life'!! She probably thinks she had every right to take the information Leanne gave her in confidence ( strongly pointing out the dangers to herself & Si about telling Liz) and broadcast it at the top of her voice to a packed pub containing among others Dan's daughter & his boss!! Having done so she's quite happy to let Leanne take all the crap for it, probably even thinks she asked for it for being on the game in the first place!!
After all what time has she got to think about Leanne, now that yet another of her wrong'un exes has turned up & needs to be screeched at , bullied & battered for his siins!!
The woman is rapidly becoming my all time least favourite Corrie character, she's bloody horrendous!!

It's easy to say that as a viewer, but Liz didn't know that Dan threatened Leanne about telling Simon that she used to be a prostitute. Nor did she know that Dan would get sacked for something that there is no evidence of and happened nearly 10 years ago.

I think what happened to Leanne was all Liz's fault, if she had broken up with him in private and not in front of his boss and daughter l don't think he would have reacted like he did, she just wanted revenge and she didn't care who got hurt.

MuckMutton cared more about putting one over Tracyluv than the welfare of Amy before, during and after the fire.

Yes she did know about Dan's threats to tell Simon!! Leanne told her when she warned her about Dan's past!! Most likely her hackles were already so far up it didn't register, or she simply thought tearing into Dan at full throttle was more important than Leanne's safety!!

I may be the only one but Liz is still a firm favourite of mine...I agree her acting at times leaves a lot to be desired but I always find it more enjoyable when she's around...

That's exactly it, she was out for revenge pure and simple.

And revenge for what exactly? He never laid a finger on her and only ever behaved like a gentleman towards her.

Well said. I feel exacTly the same. She's always been pretty horrendous but she she's got even worse during this latest stint.

She gave absolutely no consideration for the possible consequences of her actions, despite Leanne having told her about Dan's threats.

How on earth is Liz supposed to know that Simon is going to belt Leanne because of what he's found out about her

It was a private matter between the 2 as far as Liz was concerned and easily sorted with absolutely nothing for her to offer.

I was surprised she was making Our Si his tea. Wouldn't Ken be more involved if he knew Leanne was busy during the holidays?

I think Leanne didn't help matters much with Dan either. She should have decided to tell Liz straight away and press on her how private the matter was. She seemed to tell Liz out of revenge for Dan keep having a go at her rather than to protect Liz.

All in all the story, writing and acting have been absolutely dire. It all seems to be about Simon finding out about Leanne's past so he can knock her about legitimately in his view. There didn't seem to be much other thought to it and that can be seen by having Lis knock 7 bells out of Tony whilst Corrie are seemingly dealing with the sensitive issue of domestic abuse from a child Only on Corrie 'roll eyes'

Tony was barely out of the door when she had Dan in her bed declaring to Michelle that he might be the one, please she barely knew him, she had just lost her best friend, her granddaughter nearly dies in a fire, her son has depression and was tricked out of his share of the pub, and still it's all around poor Liz , please).

Love Liz - for all the wrong reasons! She is car crash TV at its finest and the Street would be a lot less colourful without her.

The character of Liz, a brash no-nonsense landlady, is so natural in Coronation Street. I think the show would be poorer without her.

Well said, Janet.

Liz is Corrie's #1 female.
