Overrated: Candle In The Wind reworking
Underrated: Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters (In comparison to Candle In The Wind's reworking, considering he performed it at the 9/11 benefit concert and dedicated it to the firefighters' families)
I'll also second The Way You Look Tonight. One of my fave Elton John songs.
Some of his more modern day stuff is underrated. The albums as wholes aren't as great as his earlier works but singles like I Want Love, This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore, Original Sin, Tinderbox are very good.
Underrated: Song For Guy, Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, Blue Eyes.
Overrated: Most of his songs, but especially Benny And The Jets, Crocodile Rock, Billy Bones And The White Bird, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me

I don't understand the Candle in the Wind hate. Yeah the Diana version is a bit lame but the original is very moving”
But everyone, except one, who has mentioned Candle In The Wind in this thread in the overrated section have been talking about the re-worked 1997 version. I know personally I don't mind the Norma Jean/Marilyn Monroe original.
