Robert Sugden vs Carl King
Wish Carl was around but I would have loved scenes between them both.
Who do you like best? |

Carl King. He was charismatic and he genuinely loved Chas. Robert is just a bully boy who only loves himself (boy being the operative word).

Why did they have to make this Robert - Robert Sugden? He is a good character but it is short term stuff. Robert carrying the Sugden name is now lost as a legacy character.

Diane never has much to do and they killed off Joe. Daz would be a welcome return. |

There could be some surprise live episode coming up between Robert and Jai (the good guys turned bad). One of them will die, and as they both have family still living in Emmerdale 'things will never be the same again' for their nearest and dearest. I am ofcourse referring to the big summer storyline and the ad where they're all dressed in black at some kind of twisted fairground.

I like both and I'm really enjoying all the Robron drama, but my heart has always belonged to Carl King. His and Chas's relationship was always my favourite part of Emmerdale, they were a brilliant couple. I'll always miss Carl King...

I like both, but prefer Robert. Carl was a bit boring, going round in circles with Chas. It was boring, seeing Carl and Chas going round in circles. This is why I am glad Carl was killed off in a way. Ryan Hawley has also made the Robert character his own and made him more interesting.

I don't think you can even compare them.
Robert's as much of a magician as he is a villain. Hitmen on speed-dial - guns appearing from nowhere & without explanation - I mean c'mon, all poor Carl King could do was push people out of windows. When you write a villain with as much narrative free reign & lack of detail as they're currently doing with Robert Sugden - the sky's the limit where Robert's concerned

Robert. I never liked Carl really - he was a bit like Jai to me although Tom was amazing in the role.
On the other hand, Robert still makes me like him! He's so charismatic and complex. His emotional scenes last night made me think that he's not all bad - things happen without him thinking them through and about the consequences. He's not all out nasty like Nathan either. |

Carl. Much better character and actor.
I think I may be in the minority on here but I cannot STAND Robert Sugden. |
