Agree. He has substance. There is much more to him than being 'evil'.

I disagree. I think he was obsessed with Chas, but his constant cheating and attempted rape made it pretty obvious to me that he didn't love her really.

Carl was dragged down and turned nasty due to circumstances, admittedly most of his own making. Remember he was the 'nice' King brother to start with!

Robert's had that streak for a while now but has completely lost the plot since his return. Not necessarily saying that's a bad thing but Carl was more relatable to me because of that.

Emmerdale do bad boys very well.

I like them both the same but like Carl Kings killings and the immediate aftermath when he no longer started to care. I always liked the fact that he got away with his crimes for so long.

That scene when Carl went to work for Donald De Souza (forgot the spelling I think) and this scene happened.

Matthew King - "If dad was here he would be ashamed of you."
Carl King - "Lucky I killed him then."
Matthew King - "What did you say?"
Carl King - "You heard."

Then Matthew beats Carl to a pulp using a golf stick. Good times!

I would like to see Robert Sugden in a different storyline now after all this has blown over.
