wasn't he just filming in a train station? ah, so that's his last scene then?

They've already ruined him as well as his relationship with Ronnie so him leaving is probably for the best.

I had completely forgotten Fatboy was part of the cast!

I can't believe that Lola and Charlie have been axed and yet the likes of Fatboy and Billy remain. WTF.

Same here.

There's nothing to miss.

I'm not sure what they can do with him, Roxy/Ronnie always work best when not involved with men, Dot is in prison for the forseeable. The Roxy affair is hideous and one of the worst things about 2015 for the show. He's not that interesting once you take the Nick link out, he's a bit wet TBH.

Him and Ronnie don't work, neither do him & Roxy. I'd like to see more Ronnie/Vincent stuff.

BIB If they thought like that then Phil would have been axed when he bedded his sister-in-law.

He should have been killed off instead of Nick. What a waste of a great character to bring in a bog scrubbling loser like Charlie. No charisma to speak of and barely able to speak English. What the hell the Mitchell sisters see in him I don't know. Good riddance.

bib I have to agree with that, even though I've never believed Ronnie & Charlie as a couple. Ronnie & Roxy should just live together with their kids and forget all about men.

I think not axing Ronnie at New Year was a bigger mistake than axing Charlie now.

I don't see the point in getting rid of him really considering they'll probably bring in another love interest for Ronnie again, bill them as 'a formidable couple' only to have Roxy sleep with him a few months later.

He's served his purpose as Jack 2.0 I suppose.

They should have both fallen for Nick!

Eeeww prim and proper Ronnie with Filthy Nick Cotton! He looked like he stank and like he blew his nose without a tissue straight onto the street. Roxy would've taken a sniff and a peek at his greying y fronts and screamed! Ugh now I've visualised this I can't un see it!
As for Charlie Cotton I don't see where he can go from here. I wouldn't miss him. If he goes I don't think I'll notice.

I like the character, but he's sort of run his course for the time being. Charlie works best with Dot in my opinion, and now that she's away for awhile there's not much for him to do. I don't think he works well with either of the Mitchell sisters. I could see him possibly returning somewhere down the road, most likely for a brief stint.

As for Lola, I still have yet to see the enormous potential everyone seems to see in her. I think she's a character who has definitely run her course.

I won't miss him. I think Ronnie's coma/Sam Womack's absence sidelined the character a hell of a lot. He's only really had a very dull affair with Roxy to speak of.

They should never have axed Aleks and had Charlie have an affair with Roxy. I loved the setup of Ronnie&Charlie and Roxy&Aleks as a foursome with Aleks and Charlie as brothers-in-law and mates. Aleks is the only bloke Roxy has ever had any onscreen chemistry with and Charlie and Ronnie also made a good couple. Why ruin it? One poster above has said that Ronnie and Roxy don't work when paired up with fellas I would have agreed back when Ronnie was with Jack and Roxy was with Alfie but I loved the set up with Charlie and Aleks. Six months ago if Charlie had been axed I'd have been upset but now I'll be glad to see the back of him.

Between him and Lola he's made some odd axe decisions.

Yeah but, if sleeping with Grant's girlfriends/wives was all Phil ever did in the show then it would've destroyed his character.

Just as constantly sleeping with every woman with a pulse has made Max rather boring and sleeping with Ronnie's men has made Roxy boring.

They ruined Charlie with that stupid affair with Roxy. I think Charlie and Ronnie had the potential to become a great power couple on the square but all that build up with his character has now been wasted. Really don't know what the script writers were thinking, we didn't need a re-run of roxy /Ronnie /jack.

I've never found him interesting but I think the material he's been given has been crap. The Nick storyline was a big part of 2014 and the early part of this year but I didn't think it was much cop. I agree with the majority that the love triangle with Ronnie and Roxy was rubbish too.

With most characters who leave, it's a question of whether they have run their course or not. With Charlie, it never felt like he got off the starting blocks. I feel slightly bad for the actor.

I'm gutted he's leaving, but I think they ruined him with the affair. Other than that I've loved him and I think he works as part of the Mitchell family, plus offers a link between them and the Branning's.
