With regards to Abi and Max cleaning up the car lot, Cora saw them through the window. I definitely think Max will be on trial no matter how flimsy the evidence, so Cora amongst others can have scenes on the witness stand.

I'd have preferred Ben being on trial.

The thing is if Ben was the one charged with Lucy's murder, it'd ruin the impact of Kathy's return. We don't want to see her comeback scenes talking to Ben in the prison. There's far more scope for the storyline if Ben is "free" when Kathy returns. She needs to have a lot of interaction with both Ben and Ian. Kathy worrying about Ben going down for murder would completely overshadow her grand return.

I agree about Cora though. I think she'll make her own return as a shock witness. It'll be like when Yvonne shockingly took to the stand against Dot but even more shocking.

Cora has never liked Max so she is likely to stand by Abi.

Poor Max, knowing his luck, Lauren will come steaming back to save him and accidentally run him over!
