How do I unlock (SIM lock) an old HTC Wildfire

I used to use an HTC Wildfire S, which had a SIM lock. It was on a Tesco contract, although the phone was actually bought SIM free.

A few months ago I bought a new phone, so no longer needed the HTC

Yesterday I wanted to use it to listen to a digital radio channel and tried to open it. I have forgotten the passcode, so now the phone is locked.

How do I now unlock it, taking into effect it is no longer on contract.

thank you

When you say the phone is locked, you mean you can't remember the password to unlock it, that's not to do with your network. Best bet is to just wipe it:
