The only usable wireless charger I have seen is the one Apple includes with Apple Watch.

What do you mean by 'usable'? And what about the one for the Moto 360, for example?

Wireless chargers are not exactly a new thing. They do seem to have become a thing since Apple announced the watch, and Samsung added support on the GS6 and GS6 edge (despite countless phones on sale for years having support, going right back to the days of Palm).

Not really. As well as having a wireless charger bedside and one by my armchair in the living room I also have a combined power pack / wireless charger so can have it charging my phone while I am out and about in my pocket or in my bag or in a hotel room or pub table or wherever. And, not liking any of the currently available wireless car charging cradles, I have adapted a small plate stand to use with my Kenu Airframe (best portable car cradle bar none) and the wireless power pack to make my own.

If need be the wireless power pack can be plugged in to recharge itself while it is wirelessly charging the phone *and* charging another device (eg tablet) using a USB lead. Handy for starting the day with all three devices fully charged.

Until the speed is the same as normal charging I won't consider it.

I have not noticed much / any difference in charging time? Is it because I plan ahead to be fully charged for whenever I expect to be out and about? And with having a power pack to hand charging a little slower is not an issue anyway.

I'd like to see all new phones supporting it, personally. It shouldn't really add any thickness to the phone if designed properly.

The Moto G, by the way, doesn't support wireless charging. Don't even think the 2015 model will.”

There's adaptors for the Moto G.

Does leaving a cassette or similar on a charger wipe the tape?
