I do think the writing for the Lomaxes is good but I've been pleasantly surprised by Jessica Ellis' performances during this storyline. I think she's been good!

Sorry for the misunderstanding Marianne but I was referring to the comment about her being 'ugly' made by the thread creator. Saying she is overweight is entirely different. I notice Jess Ellis has lost a lot of weight recently and I wish people would stop making comments like this as it must really hurt her, she doesn't deserve it, she isn't ugly either! I agree. She's a gorgeous girl and I hope she's not hit too hard by some of the comments surrounding this storyline ...

She is not even that fat. I've seen pics of her in real life and she looks great, the clothes they dress her in as Teegan are dreadful, and it doesn't help that the rest of the cast are all stick insects.

If anything, her frumpiness is treated as a point of appeal imo? It presents her as the poor downtrodden underdog who "needs" a guy to rescue her and who we should be rooting for against her more glamorous rival ...
She is basically a nice person though, looks regardless. I can see why Ziggy would like her. Aside from being vain over his looks, Zig is also a decent bloke and caring. How he puts up with that awful Leela is beyond me. Teegan is by far the better sister.

That's an insult to Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear etc to be compared to that moron.
This story line hasn't done any of them any favours but Diane is beyond annoying in every story line she's involved in.

Well, Leela has become progressively worse over this storyline as a way of getting the audience on Tegan's side. Although given that Tegan sees nothing wrong with stealing her sister's husband and trying to publicly humiliate Leela into the bargain (her plan to march into the church and announce to all Leela's guests that Tegan and Ziggy were running away together) I have trouble seeing her as a nice person ...
Tegan has had moments of awfulness but then the whole show does this. All of a sudden Leela has regressed to her original personality whereas she changed from that into a tomboy.
I actually agreed with Leela last night (first time for everything) when she was arguing with Ziggy & he said 'Don't talk to me like I'm stoopid'. You ARE stupid, Ziggy! I second the comments that all he cares about is his looks & he wants a trophy wife such as Leela.
As for Tegan, she is easily the best of the remaining Lomaxes & Jess Ellis is stylish in her own way. Calling the actress & the character fat & a cretin is just immature.

Diane has got to be the most awful character in Hollyoakes.
I honestly can't stand her. She's one of those middle class snobs who think her and her family are better than everyone else. Look at how screwed up her family is.

What is bizarre is how Rose feels unsettled with Diane and Tony (her real or allegedly real parents), but supposedly never felt unsettled with Scott in unfamiliar surroundings in Southport when Tegan was not even there.

Tegan feels like a victim and Jessica does portray this well.

Although I am one of Leela's biggest fans, I find the character hard to watch when she overdoes her angry act. She seems to alternate between angry and humble/ emotional, as she did on Tuesday on E4 for example.
Rose settled with Scott as it is plot driven to have her like that
