When they announced Lola's exit in mid-June, they said Harold would be filming her last scenes "later in the year." If this scene was her exit, wouldn't that have been filmed more or less in June?

I remember years ago Jean Slater was to be axed but they changed their mind. They could do it this time too.
She's actually had proper screen time and acting this week, and she's been great. There's so much potential there, why should she pushed out in favor of more Stacey Slater???
