EE- Do the police know lucy returned home?
mintbro
25-07-2015
The police surely must be aware she returned home, unless Jane and Denise have both lied in their statements.

Another thing is what about the cctv, we saw footage of Lucy leaving the house for the common so there must be footage of her returning home.

Unless the CCTV footage doesn't exist or there is a major plothole in this storyline.

This is true. It's not like Lucy snuck in, she stood outside the house having a big heart to heart and hug with Jane before she went in.

Or was she supposed to have gone out again after that?

The Police know nothing.

Do they know where she died?

Is there CCTV?

Would it not pick up Jane heaving a suspiciously large Bag For Life into her car?

Janes not a Mitchell so even if Marsden did see Jane lug Lucy's body into the car she would just shrug it off

There's CCTV everywhere but even then seriously how could Jane lug Lucy's body to the car which is on the Square, not in a garage and across the common without anyone seeing anything at all

I still can't help believing this isn't what happened and now with Max more or less confessing I'm wondering was he involved

Marsden: Mr Mitchell. When did you start wearing your wife's wigs to stay over at Ian Beale's house?

Don't try and make any sense of it because you won't. As if police wouldn't have done a thorough search of the house and their cars after Lucy died. I do wonder if the storyline got altered late as something as cobbled together as this surely can't be planned.

I agree, there are numerous plot holes but are they any worse than those in Max/Phil business games, Max/Vincent business games, Kathy back from the dead, Shirley's ever changing back story, Kat not realising she gave birth to a boy who was kidnapped by nuns and taken to Ireland etc?

Denise certainly does!

How the police haven't sent forensics in to the Beale house il never know!

Also wondering how an autopsy didn't show that Lucy was dead before arriving at the Common. I mean they can tell how many hours she had been dead, no murder weapon, no sign of a struggle?

Was Jake too drunk to remember Max had helped him into the flat with Lucy? Surely this would have come up in his statement, considering he was remanded for a while. I also wonder if Max is going to tell the Police about Abbie battering Lucy.

There are so many holes in all of this. Any forensics and post mortem would have found defence wounds on Lucy from the fights with Denise and Abbie, plus as someone else mentioned no forensics were done on houses or cars other than the flat. It's all ridiculous. I am hoping Lauren will step up and tell the truth, otherwise it will be doubly stupid if she allows her father to be presumed guilty.

However I am enjoying the twists and turns in a way, and I think this is how they should have done the anniversary with the Bobby reveal at the end of the investigation.

Well Jake ended up punching Lucy it was shown so I think he might have been too drunk to realise Max was there.

I hope the fights Lucy had though are revealed soon, otherwise why show them in the flashback episode if they're not going to be spoken about?

The more we look into this, the more we realise the amount of plot holes this storyline really has. Plus, soaps normally work with the police on storylines like this to give it a sense of realism.

If you rewatch the Good Friday episode back, you'll see Lucy returns home through the alleyway beside the arches. She then walks across the street however she avoids the Vic CCTV camera.

Presumably Jane would have pulled her car to Ian's front door to avoid being seen whilst everyone else was in Ronnie and Roxy's.

Jane wouldn't tell the police in her statement as she is covering for bobby and would therefore give herself away. At the time Denise would not tell the police because she fought with lucy and may have feared that she contributed to it. Also she decided to stay with Ian that day and therefore couldn't tell him she was fighting with Lucy because she knew that Denise was planning to leave him.

The only real plot hole I can see is why Masood didn't tell the police that he and Jane both knew Lucy came home.
