Has anyone got a invite I could use? and i'll love you forever <3
Don't worry you will get one soon, looking at other forums people are saying the same and lost interest in it. Suspect the 1plus bubble has burst because they needed the stock to sell this time, rather than a list allowing people to highlight weaknesses and look elsewhere.

I see even onePlus discourage the buying of the Chinese version for use outside of China.

It is in the best interest of OnePlus to discourage grey imports as it is for any manufacturer.

After reading some user reviews of this phone I'm not as convinced about its offering as I once was.

It does seem that heat is an issue and when it's not warm its slugish due to the software management of the chip. Think I'll pass any invite I get on or at least wait for more reviews.
Got to say I'm not really having issues with my OnePlus 2 yet, I've still not had it a particularly long time but it actually runs cooler at times than my LG G4 with Snapdragon 808.

I suspect many are the same then as thats what im seriously thinking now; Moto Style x or Nexus.

I am just hoping that Nexus leak isnt correct as it doesn't look that appealing.
What do you find unappealing about the two upcoming Nexus phones? I don't really see what else they could offer?

I've decided against using my invite. Not sure if I can transfer it now I've activated it on my account?

The lacklustre camera, no NFC, no fast or wireless charging are all reasons - plus SD810. Oh, and many other exciting devices coming at similar prices from Motorola, Honor and hopefully Google (having realised charging silly money doesn't work).
I haven't had chance to test the camera yet but no NFC is a huge disappointment for a 2015 device. Fast charging is also a disappoint but the G4 for now a similar price doesn't really have it either.
I still don't consider wireless charging a big thing as it simply can't deliver the same power that wired charging can, and the number of phones that can actual use it is relatively small, especially when some phones need a new back cover.
Snapdragon 810 has been a surprise for me in this phone, they do seem to have got the hardware and software right to fix all the issues previous 810 devices had.

But the phones soon to be on offer from the companies you mention are looking more than promising and will likely capitalise on all the OnePlus 2s failings.

Well that image of the LG one that was leaked, didn't look good. It just appeared cheap and very plastic. I know my N4 is cheap plastic mainly, but it was at least made to look nice.

Also fingerprint scanner on the back? What's that all about? You want it to unlock as you press the home button, if it has one.

Why? OnePlus only has a single retail channel, it isn't like Samsung (for example) who have regional or national distribution channels.

I do wonder how many people are buying the phone who wouldn't if they weren't effectively pressured into buying?

I mean you feel you must try and get an invite and then once you do, you need to act fast or miss out. I've certainly felt I ought to get one even if I'll sell it on - but then I stopped to think properly.

Impressive as it is in many ways, it's really not that special and has no redeeming features. In a matter of months it will be even more 'meh' and hardly a 2016 flagship killer.

It is a good price though.

A home button? I havent had a phone with a home button for ages. Surely you DT2W? Or press the power button on the back? In that case the fingerprint scanner is idealy placed.

I am going to get one (probably and despite the "home button" on the front). If only because no one else will have one. It will be very easy to sell on if I want something else.

It can be quite difficult to gauge the build quality and looks from early photos. I wouldn't say it looks any worse than the original nexus 5 did. I'd also prefer a slight less premium build for a much lower price, you can't have it all.

I think I'd prefer a fingerprint scanner on the back as that is where my index finger naturally rests, with it on the home button I have to change my grip slightly and it is also a pain on phones which only have on screen buttons. On my Moto X, G4, OnePlus 2 they all have somewhere my index finger naturally rests, and I don't think I'm unique in that experience.

I can see what people are saying and yes it could work, but if you want to go down the fingerprint idea to unlock, surly a natural way to unlock would be with the thumb on a button?

Though if the scanner is on the back it makes it next to impossible to unlock if it's in a cradle. Pretty much precludes the use of the phone hands free in a car if it needs a finger on the back to unlock.

In those cases I'd just fallback on smartlock either Bluetooth or NFC based.
Not that I drive or keepy phone in a cradle but how often do you need to unlock your device in one? Wouldn't it be a case of setting up navigation and leaving it, or swiping to answer a call both of which wouldn't need it unlocking?

It makes it more difficult to allocate stock, if scalpers buy 150000 units out of China to resell, it leaves Chinese buyers with less phones in the market place, and international buyers waiting longer for more units via OnePlus.

In addition the invite system creates hype and free advertising for OnePlus, the more that are bought through scalpers the less word of mouth advertising OnePlus receive. OnePlus also cannot reward customers who purchase phones from elsewhere like giving early invites to early purchasers.

As well as those reasons, if the third party seller is not clear about the differences between the Chinese version, international version and American version the end user may end up having a bad experience and associating that with OnePlus instead of the third party.

Depends on how you are used to holding a phone and the previous phones you have used. The first ever recent phone of mine to have a home button was the OnePlus 2, before that it was about three years ago I last used a physical or capacitive home button. For me the natural way to unlock would be with a rear or side fingerprint scanner, however I have adapted pretty quickly to a scanner in the home button, just as people tend to adapt quickly to LGs rear volume/power controls, or power button being moved from the top to the side.

And a year on, I find it's still great. It's about 70% full now, but still chugging along quickly with minimal slowdown. Get the occasional hang now and then, but nothing major. Great value for the price it's at now. I'm not too bothered if I have to wait an age for the Oneplus 2. May still buy it, but not in a hurry.

Yes August 27th and the first batch will cost £200 if reports are to be believed which they probably are.

The Honor 7 in the UK is being officially launched this Thursday. The inevitable Plus model will follow later.

We won't know until Thursday but at a guess 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,20,28,40. That is what the Mate 7 supports.

Just had a look online at this phone and looks decent if those pics and specs are correct. For the price I think that is the bargain and the real killer.

Does the Honor line usually run stock Android and get updated though?

Sorry to disappoint but no. I'd say EMUI is very far from stock android, and well Huawei are not the best at updates, in fact one of the worst of the mainstream manufacturers. You'll be lucky to get one major upgrade about 9 months after release.
