BT sport app and Chromecast
Was told by BT sales on 2 separate occasions that if I took out a mobile sim contract I would have access to the BT sport app on my android nexus 7 tablet and be able to watch the app on my tv via Chromecast. They said that I don't need BT infinity to do this as it would work with any broadband provider. I ordered my sim this morning and set up my online details and downloaded the app and started watching on my tablet. There was no option to connect to chromecast. I phoned up and they said it should work but it didn't. After so many attempts and departments trying to sort . BT finally said that it won't work because I am not on infity it does not work. I cancelled the contract. It is still puzzling to me as I was told it would on more than one occasion. Has anyone any experience of this and has anyone got it to work

I was going to get a BT mobile sim only contract, pay the extra £5 a month to get the full sport pack and use chromecast to view the BT sport app on my tv, then I came across this :

How are they restricting the ability to cast the picture to a Chromecast if you don't have BT Broadband or BT Sport through Sky?
Surely the app just has a cast button. Can they turn that cast button off depending on the login details you enter? |

I have had trouble with this. Took out sim contract middle last year. Could watch via chromecast fine last season. Went to watch Celtic game last night and found no button to stream. I rang them and said only works via mac book or ipad, which looks like rubbish as own website is saying have to have BT broadband or watch BT sports via sky. Not happy!!!

I have a nexus 7 (2013) and can cast BT Sports though Chromecast fine. Standard BT broadband is installed at home. I assume you had set up your Chromecast on your TV?
I may hsve an opportunity to use my tablet using a different broadband provider next week. My system is 5.0.1. I haven't updated it to 5.0.2 yet! Why don't you ask the BT community? There are one or two members there that could help you with your problem. |

I am going to re-boot my chromecast tonight and see.
However not holding out much hope. I spoke to a manager a bit ago who said 100% can't get it as mobile customer earlier. |
