A bit off topic but I found this interview recently about 'the man behind the doof doof'
http://www.eastendersspy.co.uk/2015/...the-doof-doof/ He mentions that E8 was the working title for Eastenders (which I didn't know) EDIT: I found this on Wiki: ''Alan Jeapes and Simon May created the title sequence and theme tune, and the show with a working title of East 8 was renamed EastEnders, when Smith and Holland realised they had been phoning casting agencies for months asking whether they had "any real East Enders" on their books. Julia Smith thought "Eastenders" "looked ugly written down", and capitalised the second 'e', and thus the name EastEnders was born.''
