I don't think I could stand another Christmas Day with it being all about Linda, Mick and Dean. I think it will be the Mitchells and Beales.
Maybe Kathy will return on Christmas Day? I think she'll be back a few times before then of course but maybe that will be the time she sees Ian?

If that's true, they would have managed to drag the rape plot out for an entire year longer than it needed to, with exactly zero development on any front. I really hope that's not the case but fear you may be right.
After the emphasis on the Carter's last Christmas, hopefully it'll be a Mitchell/Beale Christmas. We know that the Mitchell's know about/meet Kathy by September, so maybe it will get hidden from Ian until she turns up on Christmas Day. That and a conclusion to the Lucy storyline would make an excellent Christmas. (A surprise appearance from Grant and Peggy would also top it off)
