Samsung UE48H6400 vs PANASONIC VIERA TX-50CS620B
Hi all
Trying to pick between the two TV's in the thread title. There's not much between them so i'm looking for advice and opinions, any help is greatly appreciated. Samsung Pros: - Brand i've used before - 6Yr warranty available - Got a consumer award in 2014 - Plenty of positive reviews - Calibration settings available for best picture settings Samsung Cons: - last year model, might reach end of life support sooner - a bit smaller - Samsung tend to tie you into their ecosystem (not sure if i'd need a samsung mobile for some of the smart features to work best) Panasonic Pros: - 2015 model - 2" bigger - Generally considered a good solid brand in this price range - Has freetime making catchup tv much easier to navigate Panasonic Cons: - Being a new model, it's not had enough good reviews - Pannie are swapping to Firefox OS this year, but this TV isn't (will pannie still care about the viera connect OS?) - Reviews seem to suggest Sammie Smart hub is generally better OS than viera connect I think the major decider will be the smart OS here. I've not used either and theres no direct feature vs feature comparison chart i can find. So any opinion on the two OS's would be good? Hopefully someone can help me make my mind up ![]() Edit: forgot the links Panasonic http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd-...27117-pdt.html Samsung http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-dvd-...74703-pdt.html http://www.richersounds.com/product/...sams-ue48h6400 Last edited by Lee989 : 27-07-2015 at 13:41. True it is 3D. although that's not really something that sways me personally and as someone that wears glasses already, i'd need more expensive special purpose glasses most likely as i can't imagine wearing a second pair of glasses would be comfortable
My only concern with Samsung at the moment (and it may be untrue) is that the android smart app for controlling the TV only appears to work on Samsung mobiles/tablets (and appears to be very buggy). There are unofficial ported versions of the app, but that's not ideal. Still googling, still undecided

Well am very happy with my UE48H6240
I think the other Sony KDL-42W705B is a bit better for PQ but the screen was smaller which why I gave to my mum. And these quite hard to find now. |
