I have been going back kver her back catalogue and forgot how good she is. So a simple question your favourite album and least.

favourite: Janet. itz funky sensual, and highlighted a more womanly and mature Janet andthat cover .

worst 20 Yo its just cheap and lacking any spark it was like is she trying this from the qoman that gave the world classocs such as control :/.

Rhythm Nation or Control for me. I preferred earnest 'Let's save the world" Janet to sex Amazon"Look at my tits" Janet.

Rhythm Nation, Black Cat, Alright and Nasty are greatsongs.

Probably a toss up between RN1814 & janet.

If I was physically forced to pick an outright winner............. RN1814. Or maybe janet.

I do like sex Janet and Janet. iz a sensuous delight hence my prefferance for iit but after TVR it became tactless as opposed to empowering. TVR though is probably for me her opus if noy not my favourite.

Yes, I'd agree. It came off a tad desperate.

rhythm nation, then control, then janet

and don't forget control- the remixes or more control (the jap version). there was a load of great remixes between control and RN. by janet they started farming out remixes to other folk to get dance mixes instead of extended mixes. some worked great, some not so great, but they didn't fit with the rest of the album

Not much love for Janet post TVR I think after AFY is where it started to go off. My one overall gripe with JJ though us those bloody interludes .

janet. But Damita Jo is right up there for me. The first half of Discipline was excellent as well

interludes are annoying on nearly anything album though, but folk don't learn. it's maybe interesting the first time, but years later you just want to skip em. it's annoying when they overlap the music so you can't skip without missing something

The Velvet Rope - what a stunning album that was!

I do like janet. But half the album is interludes!! I mean, 27 tracks is a bit excessive and there's just no need.

Agreed. I've removed all of the interludes on my playlists - from all of her albums.

Definitely The Velvet Rope! That album is stunningly deep with so many solid tracks.

Go Deep, I Get Lonely, Everytime, Rope Burn and What About That are my favourites though. The best interlude was Speaker Phone. Yeah there were too many, but that one was so funny. As a rule an album shouldn't have more than 3 interludes. More than that is excessive.

97/98 in music generally was so perfect to my ears
