Things are going from bad to worse for Sarah as she's now facing a shed load of new criticism for lip synching on Lorraine (it was pretty dire though!), with people saying she can't sing or act after Corrie (that wasn't great either). There is going to be more critism as they single has flopped.”

it's a shame she had to mime it on that Lorraine show when she sang it live on this other show a few days earlier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sCe...E&spfreload=10[url] People have it in their heads now that she never sings live on tv when she clearly does!

She's been on Aled Jones TV show this morning singing live. Not my cup of tea but I'm not her target audience. She wasn't very good on Corrie but few newbies are and it would have been interesting to see if she developed with a longer stint. AJs show will be on ITV +1 in a minute for anyone who's interested.

That was quite good, I wonder why she chose to lip synch esp as she's not that good at it.

I have always thought she was a decent singer (well as decent as you can for your bog standard pop star) and the only other talented one in GA.

Threads deserves to flop. A well known catchphrase is "you can't polish a turd".

It just baffles me that there are people working for record companies/within the music industry who are clueless. Then when everything goes pear-shaped and the artist flops, those deluded people at the record company say it's the artists fault.

Just...WTF? :s

It's as if the people at Underdog Management Ltd want Sarah to fail. I thought I'd preview the other songs on this EP. Live Before I Die is also poor, the production is terrible - bad production always cheapens a song, and if the song itself is rubbish then it just makes it even worse. Indelible is probably the best song of the three, but I would've made it shorter (I only listened to the 90 second preview and can't imagine setting through the whole 4:28 version without getting bored, does the song build up to anything?). That said, Sarah's vocals aren't exactly outstanding on any of the songs.

Nadine and Nicola's solo music careers have flopped, so why are some people surprised that Sarah's is going the same way? Her music is dire. Cheryl is lucky, she has had The X Factor and Simon Cowell on her side, although her last album didn't do very well.

But at least Nicola received critical acclaim

She really should beg Xenomania for a song and just go with the poppy dance sound of GA....that is her style.

I doubt very much if the people at Underdog Management want her to fail. There are no "people". Underdog Management is Sarah's own company. It was set up in 2011 and she is the sole director and shareholder.

I think they made a mistake in making the single and the EP available the same day. The single is 99p on iTunes and the EP is £1.99,so there isn't much incentive to buy the single, anybody who wants Threads will surely pay the £1.99 for the EP instead.

It is likely now that the single will fail to chart completely.

At least she only has herself to blame then.

Thank you for posting this,I didn't know she was going to be on TV this morning. I was able to catch it on +1. I thought she looked fantastic and came across well. She seemed quite upbeat about the whole thing, then again she's a professional that's been in the business for years. She will obviously know by now that the single is going to flop.

I don't know what Sarah will do now. It looks as if the solo career's more or less over already.

I can see her being offered I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Whether she would do it or not I don't know.

She might end up in the West End. Her voice is strong enough. People say Kimberley is the weakest voice in Girls Aloud, yet she managed eight shows a week in Shrek for eight months.

The midweek chart update was published today.

Sarah is not in the Top 100.

I have no idea how many the record at Number 100 sells, but it can't be that many. But however many it is,Threads has sold less than that.

Poor Sarah.

I don't understand why it's poor Sarah. She's a mediocre singer with a piss poor song who has given terrible performances of said piss poor song. I feel more sorry for the people in her team who have to tell her it's a great song.

She has done three performances of Threads on TV. She did an Irish TV show and the Aled Jones Weekend show yesterday. On both of those she sung live and was fine.

She did one on Lorraine when she mimed to a backing track and admittedly it wasn't that great. That was the one that was reported in the press, accompanied by Twitter quotes from people saying how terrible it was. The other performances were ignored.

For some reason the media and people on Twitter just seem to have it in for Sarah, more so than the other former members of Girls Aloud, and can't wait to have a go at her at every opportunity. Look at the stick she got for her Corrie episodes, she was hardly in it but people were saying she was the worst actress they'd ever seen and she was "ruining" the soap. Eh?

I think Sarah's great and will always support what she does.

I've gone on a bit.

I've seen two performances, the Irish one and Lorraine. The Irish one was far from fine IMO and I don't care that she mimed on Lorraine (in fact, more often than not I'm extremely grateful when Sarah mimes), it's that she looked an absolute pillock whilst doing it.

I like Sarah, as a person she was one of my favourites in Girls Aloud, but she's not the best singer, she's not a particularly great dancer, the song is awful, the performances haven't been good. It's no surprise she didn't crack the Top 100 midweek at all. I'd have been more surprised if she did.

#145 in the updated midweek chart. #5 is only at 22k so Sarah's sales must be real low

Shocked at how bad it is selling

However, i think the EP is fab especially Indelible. Have a listen for free on Spotify!

It's clearly not going to chart which is clearly a shame...

Anyone who likes the single please buy on iTunes, stream on spotify, request to be played at your party/club/local radio stream. Stream as many times as you can 100 streams = 1 sale.

I saw her on Lorraine last week and she seemed like she wasn't all there to me.

She seems quite a fragile person so I do worry the negative response to her single and Corrie stint might send her off the edge

The Girls Aloud have all suffered commercial failures and have always bounced back. I think Sarah will too.

Nadine with her Insatiable release is now in Lord Of The Dance to sold out shows and good reviews.
Nicola had an amazing album and singles campaign but still flopped. Proof that bar Cheryl the UK just isnt fussed about solo Aloud releases. She turned it round and is continuing her make up range, endorsements, documentaries and now also writing music for other artists including Little Mix.
Cheryl with her very humilating USA flop appearence on X Factor USA and public sacking is now back on X Factor UK and has had three No.1 singles since. Her albums haven't sold well however as the first two.
Kimberley's musical album flopped big time and sold even less than Nadine and Nicola despite her Strictly promotion for it in the middle of the reunion. No fuss was made and she continued on with her endorsements promoting autobiography and daytime tv stints.

So Sarah shall get back on track too
Am i the only one who thinks she would make a fab presenter on childrens tv she's energetic, lively, likeable and natural - she'd be perfect!

I can't see Sarah doing children's telly. Having said that I don't know what I do see her doing.

I didn't think this single would do that well but I'm surprised it's done as poorly as this. Not even 2,000 copies sold. Clearly hardly any GA fans bothered to buy it.

I hope Sarah can bounce back from this.

It is a shame, because Sarah can sing and hold a note in my opinion. However, she just isn't as popular as Cheryl with the public and the song may not have been liked by many, even though I liked it and think Sarah comes across as one of the nicest members of Girls Aloud.

I don't think Sarah should stop with her music. At the end of the day if music is her passion, then she should not stop doing it, just because she is not a commercial success. She could still carry on with gigs and festivals
