Thought I would start a thread for this season as I can't believe you are getting between about 7/1 and 11/1 for Vitesse Arnhem to beat Southampton in the Europa league this Thursday

This is a difficult game for saints although koeman will know this side well., although this seems an incredible price for the Dutch side

Paddy Power doing the same offer as last season

Place a £20 bet on any player in the Premier League Top Goalscorer market and get a £2 free bet every time he scores during the season.

Fancy Diego Costa this year at 11/2 . Hopefully will score at least 10 to get my stake back in free bets

I did Rooney last year which didn't work out as well as I'd hoped

Hope Costa delivers this season again although the way my luck has been with football I may well have put the kybosh on him..

Might consider that for Harry Kane although with Tottenham rebuilding their side will he get the same supply as last season.

Past couple of years i've often had a silly few accumulator punts on the opening day - usually a maximum of a tenner split 3 ways.

Not after any kind of massive score or anything, but one win would be nice!

Next weekend, i'll probably go for Everton, Villa, Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all to win and i'll do 3 lots of that to cover each outcome of the Spurs/United match.

I did Sanchez and did very well out of it didnt make top 4 scorers though.

Toying between Kane at 14/1 and Giroud who is big at 20/1

Have done Hearts at 4/1 and both teams to score in their game today.

Would be awaiting Dundee United +1 on another accumulator.

Do feel English punters tend not to bet on Scottish games but of course Scottish punters do both

Paddy Power are doing the top goalscorer/£2 free bets thing again, for anyone who's interested. I went with Agüero on 3/1. It was out of him and Costa, and to be honest it was a choice between who won't be injured as much and I think Agüero has this. If Kane could replicate last season then he might get it. Kane's at 14/1, which isn't bad.

Going to do my usual (apart from Moyes took over and last year) bets of Man Utd to win the lot. I expect to lose on that as I do my usual season acca's but Paddy power have paid out on "win the lot" bets before they are actually won so you never know....

Think I might do outside bets of Bentake and (14/1) and Alex Ox (225/1) for top scorers.

Also Paddy power have Di Maria listed at 100/1 for Man Utd. Worth a shout?

I've had an outlandish £5 Double on Arsenal for The Premiership & East Fife for SPFL League 2.

Some of these new foreign attacking players like Depay and Firmino might be worth a shot. Odds will be long because they're unproven but if they settle quickly they could do a Costa.

Did the 20 quid paddy power bet on Harry Kane at 14/1 a big price but the second season syndrome is factored into that I feel.

First weekend accumulator

Crystal palace 2/1
Aston VIlla +1 4/5
Sunderland +1 5/6
Everton 7/10

Starting the season with an over 2.5 goals Trixie

Charlton/QPR
Coventry/Wigan
Birmingham/Reading

4 bets at 2.5 points = 10 points stake

All 3 correct = return of 59 points including stake
2 correct = return of 12 points including stake

Hmmmm. Not a bad shout. I think Leciester may upset the applecart though I have done an acca so ridiculous I can't even be bothered to list it, but only because it's the first day and anything can happen (hint: it includes Swansea beating Chelsea and pays around 2 grand on a £1 stake )

Registered with PP online today and did Bentake each way@ 12/1 (he's gone in quickly) for £10 and qualified for PP's £30 of free bets - forgot about the top goalscorer free £2 bet every time he scores

A fiver would be greedy. I'll do a 50p each way

Southampton might be a shout for the Europa league at 20/1 while as of 6pm today Di Maria was still listed in PP's prem topgoalscorers options.... bit sloppy...

I don't like betting for the first couple of weeks of the season because it all tends to be a bit up in the air until things settle down, new signing are assessed and the like. Think I'll do a goals galore bet for tomorrow though just have something on for the opening day!

I went with Rooney. Going to be a striker this season and takes pens.
9-1.

I'm taking a slight risk with this one. Thought I'd wait a couple of games into the season to decide before laying on Rooney or/and Kane. Odds may drop badly on one or the other today though
