Yes you can obviously level the same argument at a £12.50 return, but at least it's over a tenner.

A draw at 90 minutes will net you £55 profit, Madrid win will be £25 and Atletico will net you £15.

Each to their own, it depends how you look at it. I see the difference between £150 and £200 more tempting that the difference between £6 and £12.50. It's still not a loss, I'd probably take a break even if the potential other profit was big enough.

I feel the same. As somebody who only bets small stakes more recently I've tried to use the bet365 offer just as a risk free bet on one scenario in the hope of winning decent money.

So using this BTTS 1st half example, I would do the 2 bets as you state but then also stick a further £6 in-play on this BTTS. So if BTTS doesn't come in i've zero profit/loss. But if it does come in that's £224 profit (I think)

Im gonna go with the BTTS first half option. Most likely outcome is a small profit, but well worth it for the potential £200 if its a lucky night.

I'm going with the double chance then going for Atletico to win in-play. Can't see both teams scoring in the first half, these cup finals are often very cautious in the first half, most of the action will be in the second half or extra time!

The odds nearly always go back up a little bit just before the game though, I bet it'll be back up to 6 by kick off. If you've the balls to wait a couple of mins during the game they go up further! I've never had the balls to do that though and am scrambling around placing the bet straight after kick off!

I'm always a little paranoid about the T&C but I've not heard first hand of anyone getting pulled up on it and I've done the offer countless times with no problems.

I did once try waiting for an early goal in one of these games and it took an age to come - the odds on the draw had shortened to the point where i'd actually make a loss but, luckily, one team scored and they went right back up again.

Yeah, even after just 5 minutes the odds on BTTS in 1st half have usually gone up a fair bit. I just know that the one time I decided to wait it out that someone would score straight away!

I WAS going to go with BTTS first half (currently 9/2), but decided to go for the game to be decided in extra-time at 11/2 for my pre-match bet. I'll have to think about the in-play bet. If I can be brave enough and wait I could put it on the game to be won by penalties, depending on the odds. Just a thought.

When would be the ideal time to place the in-play BTTS second half bet? At kickoff, or half-time? I don't want to chance it and wait until 60 minutes or something.

It's currently 11/4. I imagine it'll be about that when the match starts, or maybe 7/2. I don't know if the odds tend to be better or not at half-time. Might depend on the first half and if it's had much action.

I've tended to find that it's a bit hard to predict with the games they've done the offers on. A lot of the ones where both teams have scored in the first half have been unlikely ones with last minute goals. The one that I thought was most nailed on for BTTS score was the Man City Real Madrid game that finished 0-0! All it takes is a quick early goal or a penalty and the game opens up.

Doesn't matter, I'll make the in-play bet count. If it's settled in 90 minutes then I lose £50, not £100, since it was a £50 stake.

Well in club football, it's "the" final so you'd assume it will be a cagey affair but then, as Jambo has said, one early goal and it could all go out of the window.


Any in-play bet is tricky as the odds update on the fly. Personally, I would give it about 20 minutes and if it turns in to a fairly tight game with limited chances then the odds of BTTS in the 2nd half will probably go up so i'd jump in then.

I'm still flip-flopping about what i want to do. Keep coming back to BTTS 1st half, but then I keep thinking that it won't be a high scoring game so might be won on the odd goal.
