I would not mind seeing her axed because for a long time, she has become a pointless sitcom type character. Sadly this is what Anne Kirkbride was reduced to her in last years at Corrie. Forgetting she was great dramatic actress. They are doing this with Sally.

I didn't read the newspaper article and just read the thread. Sally isn't likely to be written out for a very long time. She's been at her best lately. She's hilarious. Putting her with Tim was genius especially with her Hyacinth Bucket thing going on! Sally the actress is very good and seems to really enjoy her job. I bet she has a giggle reading the scripts. Her attitude towards her neighbours is so funny. I can see her being the same when she's Rita's age. I hope she sticks around.

Yeah the Sally in this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV7anvz-OeQ is totally different to the one we have now.
While she is mainly used for reheated comedy (I say reheated as virtually all the snobby Sal stuff is the same but with different lines), I don't mind her and she's not quite on the same level as Gail and Deirdre who were turned into absolute buffoons. |
