Steve and Michelle getting back together was completely bizarre both had moved on and neither of them had shown any interest in the other in all the years they'd been separated then out of nowhere they got back together. Steve also very cruelly cheated on Michelle with Becky who he admitted he was actually in love with. Michelle's quite arrogant I find it hard to accept she would forgive and forget for such a big betrayal. Not to mention she's a very attractive woman and could probably bag herself a fella a lot better looking than poor old Steve.

When Corrie put Michelle and Steve together I was quite surprised as it seemed to come out of the blue and felt forced. They don't have much chemistry as a couple. I preferred Steve with his previous loves like Becky and Karen. Him and Becky were brilliant together. I love the way she said his name! I would like to see Steve with someone he has more spark with instead of Michelle. Now Carla's gone I think Michelle should be written out. I've never hated her but I think she's a stale character.

CS: Beth and Kirk. It seems like they've just been put together for the "comedy" but I think Beth is a much better character when away from him (and Ches and co).

You know it's strange but Adam and Victoria have began to grow on me ever since she ran over Ashley. It's weird because usually I just can't click with soap couples where one has cheated but these seem to be exception and what a silly thing to say! She's a natural beauty, just not quite obvious with it because they don't plaster her with make-up or dress her with a short skirt, A lot of the time she's in her chefs uniform which doesn't do her any favours!
I quite like Cain and Moira, they're the ultimate odd couple but they work and work well. I hope they don't put him back with Charity when she returns. I'm surprised the dreaded 'Maurel' hasn't already been mentioned. They seem to be really disliked on this board. Admittedly I prefered her with Ashley but I can take them or leave them. I don't think Shabnam or Kush from EE work together or Stacey or Martin or Stacey/Kush either. It all just seems too forced, like they're trying to make Martin into another Bradley or something. Phil and Sharon - Admittedly it may be my inner-Shannis fangirl saying this but it seems all they do is go through the same cycle when Sharon tells Phil to stop with his dodgy deals but he doesn't listen. He then crosses the line and does something unforgivable, she declares revenge and makes a plan but then backs out at the last minute, forgives him and goes back to being the good little gangsters moll. It's infuriating. I agree about Steve and Michelle from Corrie. People forget he was only too quick to dump her the first time when Becky came along. They have no chemistry and it feels they only put them together because they where both single and similar age. Any Hollyoaks couple - I mean that, there is not one couple on the show at the moment that suit each other and EVERY couple no matter their age or personality goes through the same cliche-ridden rubbish. Ridiculous |

I agree Steve was better with Karen and Becky. That's because he actually had a relationship with those two. Steve had SLs with Becky and Karen. There was always interaction between them. With Michelle there's nothing. Steve has more to do with Eileen and Lloyd. Now Michelle's not constantly bitching at Steve all she does stand behind the bar with her arms folded, looking superior and making quips. She has far more to do with Liz. Even Steve and Michelle's wedding was a non-event. Michelle is a stale character. She has no friends and no interaction with her husband. But Corrie won't get rid. They are re-inventing the Connor family. Hence Michelle keeping her maiden name and the arrival of more Connors in the future. ![]() Michael and Eileen ![]() LLoyd and Andrea ![]() Sarah and Callum ![]() Luke and Maria

The first thing that came to my mind when I read the title was Sharon and Phil. Despite them knowing each other for so long it just doesn't seem to work for me at all.
Abi and Ben is another one of course but to me it's almost like they aren't meant to fit anyways. Ben is gay, so any relationship involving him and a girl just won't feel natural no matter what |

Kush/Shabnam
Kush/Stacey Martin/Stacey Stacey has been dragged down by these boring characters and the whole love square completely fails because there is no chemistry in it. The only bit that works is Stacey and Shabs friendship but this 'square' is the low point of EE and has made Stacey a bore. |

Gary and Alya form me. Zero chemistry between the two, and why would Alya go for him? Makes no sense to me.

Corrie:
Alya and Gary Sarah and Callum - not only do they not work together but neither of them do any actual work. Lloyd and what's her name Steve and Michelle Tyrone and Fiz Billy and the stereotype Whoever Michael is with these days Home and away: phoebe with... Hannah and Andy |

Gary and Alya in Corrie. Friends, yes but romantic partners, no. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to conquer the world but I think Alya and Gary's levels of ambition are too far apart. Alya seems smarter than Gary and he's not particularly funny. He's a nice bloke and would make a good boyfriend for somebody but I believe someone like Alya, at this time of her life anyway, would look for more than just nice.
EDIT: I'm not a regular Emmerdale viewer and while neither of them are ugly, I'd certainly say Adam is the better-looking out of him and Victoria. |

Can I add Eileen & Michael (CS) to the list.
Michael should be with Gail not Eileen. |

Martin and Stacey, he is just to boring, for her, I mean I know Bradley was boring, but he had something about him, Martin is just, well a lurch, hovering around.

Ones I feel don't work well are:
- Jai and Leyla (Emmerdale) - Debbie and Ross (Emmerdale) - Robert and Aaron (Emmerdale) - Steve and Michelle (CS) - Dev and Julie before she left (CS) - Michael and Eileen (CS) - Abi and Ben (EE) Although I like Abi being part of the Mitchells - Shirley and Buster (EE) - Tom and Peri (Hollyoaks) - Howard and Emma (Doctors) |

Another vote for Alya and Gary - one is stunning looking, a graduate with ambition and the other is none of those things. Totally unbelievable
