EE: Billy - is he surplus to requirements?
I love Billy but he has been always so underused
. Perry Fenwick is one of the best actors (in my opinion) and last night, he broke my heart with his moving performances. But Lola is gone now and Billy is never really part of the Mitchell family. He is always an "outsider" but what can they do with Billy now? Axing Lola was a ridiculous decision because Billy and Lola have a beautfiful grandfather-granddaughter relationship. Is there a place for Billy in EastEnders now? What else can be done with him? |

Billy has always been an outsider in the Mitchell family, and I like him all the more for it. He has a great relationship with the Cokers, a steady job and the lovely Janet. Billy works well with any character in the show and has never been limited to the Mitchells so I can't see him leaving.

He reminds me of Kirk from CS, so I think a love interest will completely rejuvenate him.

It's about time he had a storyline of his own instead of being the ever-consummate support player. Perhaps give him a slow-burning serious illness (eg: prostrate cancer) to allow the very-capable Fenwick to flex his acting chops in a completely different direction.

I remember when billy first arrived and what a nasty piece of work he was with Jamie. The billy then and billy now are world's apart. Now he's more of a joke character and has been surplus to requirements for years now but I don't see him leaving anytime soon.

No way . Plenty of stuff they can do with Billy. Keep him at the Cokers however.

I am divided on Billy as he appears to be one of life's eternal losers- his relationship with Lola was good but Perry Fenwick is a good Actor so maybe its time he spread his wings and play other characters now but he has been in the show a long time now.

I don't think Billy is surplus. He has always been an outsider to the Mitchells anyway. I like his relationship with Jay and hope this won't be destroyed. He has also been integrated well with the Cokers. Hopefully this will provide him with more screen time. I like Billy and it would be good to see him more and for tptb to give Perry Fenwick a decent story.

Lola was the most interesting thing about him. Donna could liven him up.
In despair at what his life has become Billy joins adult education pottery, vinegar making and tequila classes. There he meets Donna. They bond over their shared love of all things Ceramic, Balsamic and Hispanic and re-enact the famous Unchained Melody pottery scene from Ghost...

We can only surmise that the actor who plays Billy is well loved among the cast and production team. They could have axed him years ago but he has always stuck around. Supporting actors are needed though and it is good to have some continuity.
Is he still stealing the post? |

I like Billy it would be nice to see him have some happiness I like his scenes with Carol he needs a nice woman and no terminal illness etc. I hope he stays working with Cokers, I also like his relationship with Jay hopefully this isn't ruined.

I'd like him to catch up with himself and be a responsible man in his 50s

The same was said after Little Mo left and after Honey was axed. Billy will be fine.

As far as I'm aware, Lola wasn't axed, she wanted to leave.

Just you all wait until he's shacked up with Kathy. King Bill. Billy the King. The head of Walfords two great families, Beale and Mitchell.
Don't forget that I told you so. |

Billy has been taken on at the Undertakers and with no son to leave the firm to it would be nice if Billy got a bit of it and then had his own business. The character deserves a break after all these years under Phil and everyone else that throws dirt at him.

Billy and Donna would be a ridiculous pairing. He's nearly twice her age.

I think the good thing with Billy is Lola & Lexi weren't killed off, so they left the door open, I also think Billy needs to finally get lucks in with his love life. There still very much potential for him but he not used enough, he had be great with certain story and then he be completely useless in others. I mixed, I like him but I don't see EE doing anything with him
