I dont understand DTC axing Lola? she has such a great role in the show and giving birth on the live episode was amazing. Why did he axe her?

Why are you trying to make it personal vas? Maybe he felt the character had nowhere to go.

It was sooo wrong for DTC to axe Lola, but I doubt it was because he didnt like her, unless you have heared him say that.

How are you so sure?
You can't just assume he didn't like her. DTC has axed some of his own creations too. Actors they he bought in.

I liked Lola and think its a shame she is going especially now she is with Jay. Her character did have a lot more potential.

Her exit to Newcastle was very poorly written. There is no way a young girl would head off to live in Newcastle (which is hardly the land of opportunity) without her boyfriend with her.

As to why she was axed, we'll never know. Perhaps she wasn't very committed to the show and wanted to do something else, or she just didn't get on with the producer. Personality clashes backstage can sometimes lead to the demise of a character.

Maybe. However it seems to me that vas thinks DTC had a personal issue with the actress.

If I'm wrong I apologise vas but that's the impressionb I got from his post

Danielle Harold must have done something pretty bad to piss him off, considering she became a glorified extra as soon as DTC came in and then he gave her the lamest exit of all time. There was literally no build up, and the whole thing made no sense at all.

Either he had some kind of personal disagreement with the actress, or he just has no time for characters that aren't his creation/on his list of personal favourites. Either way, it wasn't good.

He axed Aleks and Charlie. Both characters were introduced by him.

Both of those character were slaughtered at the altar of Ronnie and Roxy - two DTC favourites.

He's also axed every character introduced by Kirkwood and Newman (except Cora).

Kathy (aka Lexi's grandmother) is just about to return. There's loads of potential in that storyline alone!

The accusation I was addressing is that he only axes characters he didn't create which is blatantly not true

Because there was nothing for her to do and it was pointless keeping her on the show, her departure won't make a bit of a difference to the show, she may have been a bigger character in the past she's barely been in it the past year and that hasn't affected the quality of the show at all. I really don't understand the furore over the axing of such an insignificant character

Lola leaving while Jay has gone in for questioning just doesn't make any sense at all!! She was just about to go on the run with him yet when the police turn up she legs it to Newcastle?!

Perhaps DTC is prejudiced against Oompa Loompas and was alarmed at how increasingly orange Danielle Harold was becoming.

Or maybe he feels it was stupid to randomly give Billy a grandaughter in the first place when a few years he'll have two teenage children of his own. (Janet and William > Lola)

Why is everyone assuming Danielle Harold was axed? She decided to leave because she felt her character was sidelined.

I agree why Newcastle of all places? Why can't a character ever leave because they have a fantastic job opportunity or to go somewhere a bit more exciting. Sorry (no offence meant to people from Newcastle) but surely she would have even less job opportunities there than in London. If she was going with Jay to be with him it would make sense but he's just been arrested. Most girlfriends would stick around and wait for him at least. Very poor storylining.
