She seems to have a niche for gritty storytelling and stunts, so would she fit the bill on EastEnders? Judging from what little I have seen of Emmerdale, there always seems to be big storylines running alongside each other and I am aware of some of her storylines on Emmerdale including;

-The seige (2013) I found it to be absolutely fantastic!
- Val's HIV Interesting choice of storyline for Emmerdale to tackle
- Lachlan sexually attacking Alicia.
- Gennie's death. Unexpected and had me on the edge-of-my-seat
- Belle accidentally killing Gemma and then going off-the-rails
- Donna's death! Fantastic!
- Laurel's alcoholism. Very dark but well acted

And now this big stunt... The woman has got a lot of creative talent. If she was the next EE producer, what ideas could you see her having?

I love DTC's day-to-day episodes. Continuity and interactions has never been better, but what big storyline during his almost soon to be 2-year tenure has he excelled at apart from Who Killed Lucy? The storyline was fantastic and had a lot of people hooked, but now it's just a bit dull..

Carols cancer was a very good storyline that was quite 'big'.

Disagree. Didn't ignite the hype or ratings which I expected it too, but it was brilliantly crafted.

Her and Blackburn are friends, KO also clashes Emmerdale with EE and done this during EE live week which was in really bad taste and EE thrashed ED anyway, but I'm sure that she would definitely consider it..

Kate Oates doesn't control the ITV schedulers, its there decision to constantly put Emmerdale against EE, Kate Oates has previously said in an interview that she doesn't like the clashes but its beyond her control. I really don't think she appreciates one of Emmerdale's biggest stunts next week is going up against EE, even though Emmerdale will come out on top I think she would much rather they be kept apart.

Quality analysis as always, Ton. Not a bad bit of trim, indeed.

BIB, Absolutely. Most Producers are average looking and you can see why they prefer a career behind the scenes but Kate Oates is bloody gorgeous

I don't care about ratings at all but I hope you're right.

Yes please. Kates work on ED has been fab. Plus Kate lets every character shine on ED and doesn't allow them to just become extras.

Better chance of her going to Corrie, but she's right at home in the Dales the hottest ticket around UK wise

I'd bet money that's where she ends up next. I read somewhere that she originally was up for Series Producer of Corrie but they felt she didn't haven enough experience to run it, so they gave her Emmerdale, so she will be a shoe in now.

The proof is always in the pudding but I would LOVE her to have a crack at EastEnders.

I do, however, think the next natural move is for to take over Coronation Street, especially as she has worked there before and has been so successful on Emmerdale.

I think after Kirkwood the BBC won't be looking at Producers at other soaps, when DTC decides to step down then I want Sarah Phelps to take over. I think she would be brilliant!

DTC can jog on. He can't even hold a flicker to Kate.
